Lost/Abandoned Cat — Brooklynian

Lost/Abandoned Cat

edited November -1 in Brooklyn Pets
There is an adorable lost or abandoned white cat near the corner of 9th avenue and 53rd street. It has blue eyes and is wearing a shredded pink collar with a bell. I spoke to some neighbors on the block but no one knows whose cat it is and no one is willing to help out. I would take it in but I am going away for a few weeks tomorrow and my parents refuse to take it in. It is so scared- it is just sitting there meowing. I am sure that it is not an outside cat because it is really dirty and it is just sitting there looking terrified. It is sitting in the driveway next to the garages next to the first house off 9th avenue on the northeast side of the block. (the house numbers across the street are 870-72 i think) The cat might still be there. Can someone PLEASE take the cat in?!!! I left when it started to rain and she was just sitting there looking miserable and crying.

  • From the forum info:
If you must give up a pet before you've found a home for it, please consider a no-kill shelter. The closest one I know of is BARC in Williamsburg:

Can you take the kitty in and then take it to the shelter?
Please take it in at least until the rain stops?
Someone will be able to help it before you leave on vacation, even if it is a no kill shelter.
  • Is this in Brooklyn or Manhattan?
  • this is so depressing.
