Hate to Rant, but the DRUG DEALLIN' HAS TO STOP
Subject: Hate to Rant, but the DRUG DEALLIN' HAS TO STOP
OK, I have posted on this before...I know that MANY of the folks in the South Slope fought very hard to rid 15th/16th Sts. (and other blocks) of rampant drug dealing (and use), then to be followed by our over-building crisis there and GWH.
Unbeknown to my wife and I when we moved in 2003-2004, certain streets in Greenwood Hts. are a haven for drug use, drinking, dealing, dumping and of course the regular "rendez-vous" and pimpin' action due to there proximity to the cemetery (and I guess since it's a nice block too).
We have worked with the CB7 and the 72nd Pct. successfully (and with some posturing, stares, yelling and "faux phone calling" of our own) to drive away the would-be lovers, drinkers and users...and with the 72ncd Pct. narcotics unit, move the drug dealers off the block. Unfortunately, as we have been told by the 72nd Pct., the "dealers just move to another block."
Successful for a while...Well, they are back.
Blatant deals have been going on this summer and finally tonight, one in front of our house with ME STANDING OUTSIDE watering our front garden. No shame,no pardon.
So, I have a call into the 72nd Pct's narcotics unit, but also wanted to find out if any other blocks in GWH, SSP and WT and SPS have seen an increase of dealing or use in the recent months so we can have a comprehensive list to hand over to the Pct.
I have recorded make/model of the cars, perps and when possible (easy tonight) the plate # . Of course BEHIND CLOSED DOORS thru windows (except tonight). No one should put them selves or their families at risk (in my humble opinion, though I am guilty of doing so) of confronting dealers and buyers directly.
Would love to hand my "trouble" list any any others to the narco unit this week. Please PM me directly if you have info.
Pissed!

That's amazing considering that the Methadone Clinic is on 21st and 3rd. That's like walking cross country. Did you flip him over and point him towards the ocean? -
Whew, not on my block, no way. Too many long-timer adults sitting out on the street. There used to be quite a bit at my old neighborhood 13th between 6th and 7th. I notice that the house is gone now, don't know if the city nabbed it or if they actually sold the property but there is a brand new condo there now.

Happened again last night, this time though my presence scared them off...of course, I was just standing there. White SUV, Chevi and a Hummer, all tried to converge...the guy in the Hummer waived them on when he saw me watering my garden. The balls!
I hope 72nd's Narco unit is keeping tabs like they said!
Howdy, Stranger!
