Grecian Corner sold?

Is this good news? Heard that the infamous Grecian Corner on 7th Ave across from John Jay is in the process of being sold.
Anyone hear more?
I for one would like to see the Greasy go!

  • I agree. It was one of the worst diners I'd been too. Shoud have been named Greasyian Diner. I always felt like I needed to take a shower after being in there. ughh!
  • Whatever this place morphed in to would be better than what it is!
  • The unanimity with which that place is despised is amazing. Can it really be as bad as we all think it is? Someone must be keeping the place alive...

I had a couple of spectacularly mediocre meals there in the early 90's and have never even considered going back. And yet... it's just a diner - how bad can it really be?

Is it a favorite hang-out of Methodist Residents or something?
  • i love grecian corner. really. it's cheap. good food, they have grits, it's clean. one of my favorite diners.
  • I always liked Grecian corner too. It was very close to my old place, so I went regularly. Granted, I only ever ordered eggs, which are pretty hard to screw up. But the reason I go to diners is so I can order eggs at any hour of the day. I'm a simple girl.
  • yea, it would be great if a bank or realtor took over. Isnt diner food supposed to be mediocre??
  • Well Daisy's Diner on 5th ave is not mediocre at all!!

The Purity is a better choice is you are a Resident or any one who works at Methodist Hospital..

I think the Grecian should be put out of its misery,, Take aim!
  • Whatever the case, i hope we get something of use in place of grecian. It's such a pity that banks tend to be taking over the hood but they are the highest paying commercial renters so it's not really a surprise.
