  • I wouldn't mind having some money, but I hope that I'd have enough class not to go around telling people how wealthy i am.

    Dat's right. Real wealth whispers
  • TexasTea, rubbing their money and wealth in our faces, reminded me of that character on the Simpsons..."Rich Texan", smoking cigars and cutting down trees and killing everything in his path, lol.

But if money is no object, maybe they could just have whole foods deliver all their health food to their doorstep, even though I'm fairly sure they don't deliver to Brooklyn. LOL!
  • Flexi Chick I totally agree!
  • Hell, it's easy to hire someone to go shopping for you!
  • Dat's right. Real wealth whispers

I would at least expect Real wealth to spell "disappointed" correctly. All that money and no proofreader? Hmmph.

    whats wrong with having money?

    just asking?
Money? Wha...? I ain't hatin' texastea's BIG texan wallet, I'm hatin' texastea's BIG lazy butt.

Wow, do you really go around saying that or is it special for anonymous land?
I noticed that too, and thought "so call a car service and get yourself to Fairway or BttL".

Hey - I wrote that and it never showed up. I feel hijacked!
  • filmlover44 wrote: Hell, it's easy to hire someone to go shopping for you!
Yes! I like this one better than the car service thing for sure. For a couple hundred bucks, I'm sure that your could get any number of people to go to *multiple* stores FOR YOU and get whatever you like. That way, you don't even have to get up.

Hell, I'll put myself out there: for the small sum of $200 (plus the cost of purchased items) I will be happy to travel to as many stores for you as you like and get whatever you need from them. The total time is not to exceed three hours, and additional time will be billed at $75/hour (which is TOTALLY reasonable for skilled labor).

PM me and we can set this up, I care about people and would love to help you out with your problem.
  • thanks everyone for all the suggestions! I checked out traditions, they were a little disorganized, pumpkins, that was neat, the whole country/general store vibe. balance, again your basic kinda health food store.

Regarding the car service suggestions, even though Im very well off financially, I try to walk everywhere and almost never take cars. Thanks for the ideas though!
  • texastea is my favorite slot machine game!!!
  • texas tea wow
i have no words for you my brother ............
  • I think sarcasm may be lost on texastea...
  • Ack! Don't fall in the sarchasm!

Texastea- _You_ don't have to walk anywhere! The way it works is that you can PAY someone to walk for you. Or take a car service. Or even to just take their own car! You can just stay at home, while you let your money do the work FOR you! What is the use of having a bunch of cash if you still have to get off your butt and go to the store to get your own health foods?? A bit silly, if you ask me. Put that money to work keeping you in your life of leisure, and make somebody less well off go do the dirty work for you! It is the American way!

You sound like either a troll, or Ed Begley Jr. Or both.
  • I'm actually of the impression that Texastea may be the one heaviest on sarcasm here, and he's just having a bit of fun with all of us tightly-sprung, cynical NY types.

    No worries.

If you're still reading, may I be among the first to welcome you to the congealing pot.

What sort of design do you do? (print? identity? broadcast? interactive? intelligent? ;)

    entry: dissapointed

altough this topic "dissapointed" is spelled incorrectly, it has quickley risen to 1163 hits at 12:21 on a thursday morning

as our ship departs this oddly mishapen panet, the battle of sarcasm versus scarcasm rages on

one must wonder when this war on words will pass

    that is all, signing off

We're all trapped here where we must walk 5 blocks for with our feet for organic food. Gentlemen, prepare to beam me aboard on my signal. It's now after 10 PM and everything is closed. Gentlemen, beam me aboard.
  • Indeed welcome. I like the Urban Organic service myself for the record.
  • Raw,, o.k. I vowed to not respond to this thread because it has gone beyond the ridiculous.. but I can't keep that vow..... you made me laugh too much!!

it is good to be rich, I mean, who doesn't want to be rich? Graphic designer, on the other hand...

Change that statement and directed at Toothpick..

Glad to see this post rose to the top again so that we can rant about something really important and not grace that Coop thread with more responses.
  • Pumpkins is sweet.
BTTL is not as pricey as everyone makes it out to be! They are wonderful to their employees, have great customer service, testers for all their cosmetics, and sponsor tons of charities. Why the hatin folks?!
Balance is out of balance. No food, just the "health supplements" and vitamins that cost $$, but no bulk, no fresh produce, nada. Yuk.
What is Fuel? Is it opening or reopening?
  • Fuel is a juice bar/ food chain that is "opening" on 5th Avenue, I think between Prospect & 17th.
  • bttl is a great store - unfortunately i think people compare their prices to the coops - which is not fair - their prices are along the line with every other health food store including whole foods
  • i think bttl's prices are high on non-specialty items -- the stuff i can get at most grocery stores, like fage yogurt and droste cocoa. i haven't done a strict comparison, but that's my impression.

it's a nice store, though, and i'm glad they have such a thorough selection of ritter sport chocolate bars; they're my favorite sport. (in fact, seeing all those flavors laid out when i first moved here was definitely one of those "holy crap, i'm in the big city now" moments.)
