Partial building collapse on 5th Avenue
It looks like the attic floor of an old brownstone being renovated on 5th Av. between 2nd and 3rd streets collapsed this evening. There is a big pile on the sidewalk. I don't know if anyone was hurt but we did see someone being loaded into an ambulance (the reason I don't know if anyone was really hurt was because I heard a cop saying something to the effect of, "imagine if someone had been walking by..." so the ambulance connection is a mystery to me. Many fire trucks on the street; it was blocked off for a while.

It's on Gothamist - http://www.gothamist.com/labs/map - don't think there were major injuries as I'm on 5th St. and 5th Ave and I'm sure I would've heard sirens....
