Hate Crime on Nostrand Ave sunday Morn

A man was stabbed on Nostrand between Bergen & Dean on Sunday morning after the Starlight Lounge closed at 5 a.m. Police classified it as a hate crime. The starlight is the oldest black owned gay bar in New York. I heard that the victim died yesterday. Does any one have any more information?

That's horrible. I just did a little poking around on Google News and didn't find anything. How'd you hear about it?

Subject: hate crime

I was going to get the paper and the tape was blocking the sidewalk. The police officer said it was a hate crime. My acquaintences that work at the bar are trying to down play the hate crime. and someone else said the guy died. But I have not been able to find out any more in the papers or online - thats why I posted. I did call the anti violence hotline and reported it, and they said the mostly deal with the victims, but took note anyway. Got any ideas? By the way LOVE the licky kittY!!!!!

I don't believe it was classified as a Hate Crime and I haven't heard anything about the guy dying. The incident started as a dispute and the word "Fag" was used.

A dispute in that neighborhood with anybody at 5am will probably result in death whether one is a homosexual or not.
