Now you're making me hungry...
I saw a pig being walked today on 7th Avenue and it was CUTE! -
Most humiliating waitressing moment ever: waiting on a monkey.
I'd like to see the pig, someone get pics! What street was it? -
it wasn't headed towards rosewood, right?
-

Shame on you, Carnivore! -

The nice pig was trotting on 7th Avenue near Berkeley Street by La Taqueria.
And no, Carnivore, this nice pig was not wearing a taco shell. Keep your dirty mind out of the burritos. Same goes for you too, Street Shooter or I'll start calling you Bacon Breath.
This pig was very nice. -
Is this the guy?

If I had a pig I'd want one that looked more like Wilbur and less like a rhinoceros.
Emmett's owners say he eats kibble - I wonder, are we talking Purina Pig Chow here, or what. -

yeah, those are pot-bellied pigs, the ones that can be pets. they flip me out; they're hideous.

OMG, so cute! Does he go to Prospect Park and play with the dogs at all, I wonder? I can't imagine what my dog would make of him, if they passed each other on the sidewalk. :P

It looks delicious!

Sorry, I know this is wrong, but I just can't help myself! -
I think he's adorable! A friend of mine keeps 2 pigs (bigger than these) as pets in his shop (he's a mechanic). They have indoor and outdoor space and he also has a dog. They all get along great. At home they have 2 cats and a rabbit. Their 5 year old has a lot of show-and-tell options

I want a little pink pig with a curly tail or a medium-sized fury grey pig with white spots and a straight tail. I know nothing about pigs and have no idea about what I'm talking about. But I swear I've seen pigs like the ones described up above and they were very friendly and engaging -- just like dogs.

I want a goat. I have a Heidi complex.

The pig I saw looked like a baby version of Babe.

We must have been in the same place at the same time - I saw the piggy being walked too on his little leash - so cute. I thought it was weird, but cute. The guy walking him was also walking a dog - he kept saying the dog's name, but I don't remember what it was. Apparently the pig is more well trained than the dog? Piggy definitly didn't look like the pig pictured here - he was little, pink, and more pig like than say boar like...

Does the piggy ever come to the park for FIDO meetups? I'd like to meet him!

Basically the upper part of the pork shoulder. It's part of the larger shoulder cut (that includes Boston butt and picnic shoulder) that comprise the delicious roast pork known as pernil (available at carneviento, among other places). It is also one of the components of SPAM (whose name, as true swine-lovers know, comes from it's primary ingredients pork shoulder and ham).

I don't think ANY of those cute little pink piggies stay small like the pot-bellied pig pictured.
why do you want the spotted pig to have a straight tail? -

veeeery instructive.
you know, when I see all the acorns in Prospect Park, I can't help thinking about fancy ham-bound european pigs who roam the forest foraging . . .

Not entirely the same, but my boyfriend saw a live chicken crossing 5th Ave around 19th Street a few weeks ago.
I am assuming it is a runaway from the shop a few avenues down. -

Really?
Why did it do that?
