Who Are These Douchebags?
I don't know if this is a widespread phenomenon but in the last couple of months I've noticed how predatory dudes have overrun the South Slope bars on the weekends. I mean, these guys' lack of tact/manners would make dogs in heat blush, acting like they just got out of Rikers and hadn't seen a female in 2 years, or something.
Hey, as a single, unattached guy I enjoy meeting and chatting up a lovely lady over a drink as much as the next dude. But what's with the blatant, clueless, in-your-face desperation, and often-rude approach? (Has a "frat war" been declared?) This is nothing new, of course. But lately it's become so common and relentless that I hear both bartenders and patrons regularly complaining about it. WTF?

gross. i haven't been goin out as much as usual but i guess i'm glad cause those kinda crowds can really ruin a night. what bars in particular were they invading? if they dare taint my beloved buttermilk i'll burn their houses down.

The more important question is what is up with the extremely desperate women? God, I know my husband is rediculously good looking, but you'd think when he tries to avoid talking to you, refuses your advances, AND says he's married, you'd leave him alone. Those girls just end up making damn fools of themselves. Sometimes its an honest mistake, but some women are just vultures.

Then get out your torch and lighter fluid, my friend. Just this past Friday I experienced it at the 'Milk. And I heard it was going on at Commonwealth that same night as well. As a matter of fact, some dudes--with very little grasp of the concept of subtlety--came from over there to Buttermilk after some ladies had felt uncomfortable at C'wealth. But worry not, I bet those dudes are being watched closely. And I wouldn't be surprised if these bars exercise their right to refuse service. -
sounds disgusting. i live in la now and u dont even have to ask. i think there are roughly 1000 douches per square mile spread out all over la. i want to vomit 24 hours a day

I was in Union Hall last night (only to get out of the rain for the duration of a beer), and the level of desperation in there was huge. All terrible dudes and lonely girls. I'm usually never stared at so insistently by so many women.
Why must Park Slope be so fratty? If I was sleazier I'd take advantage of having no competition but I couldn't possibly. -

I get sucked into the vortex of incredulity every single time I read it.

Whew! Those are some ugly douchebags.
I'm beginning to think breast implants have little whistles implanted in them that constantly sound at a frequency that only douchebags can hear. Yet another reason not to get implants, ladies! -

I was going to say that too, but whenever I go there I get screamed at and called all sorts of names. -

Don't take it personally. "Michael keys" is a good friend of mine and my husband's predating my participation here. I don't, otherwise, doll out winks in such a conversation as this. -
I really don't quite know what to make of this, other than that it absolutely belongs in this thread:

Jeffrey, Jeffrey, Jeffrey
OMG that was the funniest s&*# I've seen in a long time. Now I have to go rip my eyeballs out to wash that memory away. -
Who knew singles (even obnoxious ones) were even tryin to hit it in the slope? I think the ss younger demo is reflected in the "fratty" behaviour. I ain't seen it, but it sure sounds weird to this ole timer!
