for those of you who (like me) have always wondered about what the PS 9 building looks like on the inside, check this out. would you pay 1.75 million for this? and how much to air condition in the summer with that layout?

  • Oh wow. That's gorgeous. And I've always been curious about that building -- thanks for posting the link!

Someday, I'll win a MegaMillions drawing...
  • Thanks so much for posting that. I saw an ad for the apartment earlier but have always been curious about what that building is like inside.
  • are they renting any of them?

    i love that building
  • I wonder which floor that apartment is on.

Ground? It looks like there's a silver car outside the window on pic 7.
  • I was inside a number of years ago at an open house. The construction is crap, walls are paper-thin, and many of the spaces are wierdly configured....I think I'd feel as if I were in prison with bedrooms' only natural light being from those tiny windows at the top of the wall. If they get the asking price then people with money are more insane than I'd thought. You can get a fantastic house in this neighborhood for that money, and never hear neighbors walking above you.
  • any one have a link to 786 washington ave? there are co-op there with an apt. for sale (open house signs were spotted by a friend this weekend) and i am curious what that building looks like inside --- i've only seen views from various roof tops in the 'hood but they have a super fancy back yard, roof, and the front entry was is kind of interesting... location = 2 doors or so south of tom's.
  • That is beautiful! I can only dream. I always wondered if that was a school or apartments.

It's listed as the "Co-op of the Day" on Brownstoner.com, and the link to the FSBO is here: http://786washington.blogspot.com/. Looks beautiful... do people think it's the right price for the neighborhood? I thought it was priced right, but the Brownstoner comments said the place was too expensive.

i live in the same buidling in terms of layout - 3 doors down - so this 1 bedroom is tiny - 1/2 the size of my apt. but, it looks really nice - so the price is probably about right!
  • one more thing that sucks about the washington ave apt - awesome backyard and roof but not for use by the middle 2 floors!!!
  • yeah, that's not the same layout as my 1BR on washington but almost. it's not super tiny but it's not a whopper, either. and yes, theirs looks totally nicely redone - like the kitchen and bathroom - but frankly, you could just buy in my building for presumably less and pick your own new bathroom & kitchen for that price.

of course, I'm biased - I have roof rights. and a quiet bedroom.
  • yeah, the real bummer about the place at 786 is lack of access to the super nice rooftop deck or back yard. maybe the tenant could negotiate something, but judging from the fence the people just put up on the rooftop they're overly protective of their space.
