Brooklynian photo pool!

I finally got the "badge" to work so that it would display everyone's public photos tagged with "brooklynian". But apparently if you pull from "everyone" then you can't use the random feature on your badge.

So that means that to do the random thing on the badge, we HAVE to use the Brooklynian pool (not any photos anywhere tagged "brooklynian").

I think.

Actually, I'm 99% sure it's one of the water lotus pots at the botanic garden. That's what they look like when they're not blooming. The reflected stuff is just the surface of the water.

Thanks, I was wondering why my pics weren't showing.

I think there needs to be a little step-by-step instruction on this because its not as simple as tagging.


1. Get Flickr account & upload pics.
2. Join the Flickr Brooklynian Group.
3. Tag your pic "brooklynian" (sans quotes)
4. SEND the pic to the Brooklynian Group
5. make sure your pic is public.

...yea...something like that. :P

No, i know...its just that since Ive posted it Ive seen other images MULTIPLE times...and I know theres a lot...and its random...and I just put up ONE pic so the odds are small...rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant.

Yeah, I've noticed the same kind of thing -- Flickr's randomness isn't so well randomized.

I don't get it, my photos are tagged and they don't show up. I just looked through the 36+ pages of Brooklynian pool photos and they are not in there either. What am I doing wrong?

I posted a question in a separate thread ("A question about the photos") which was subsequently locked on the basis that it was answered here. I don't see it. (If the answer is here and I missed it, it's because this thread is so damn long. Which is why I posted a separate thread.)

Basically what I wanted to know is why the photo used relies heavily on the same half-dozen or so photos or so. I don't see the taximob so much, but I'm still seeing a lot of the subway yard, for example -- a nice photo, but I'd like to see a little more... variety.

As I said in my other thread, I'm not too worried about the apparent absence of my own photos from the selection. At that posting, there were over 1300 photos in the group pool, and close to 2500 tagged with "brooklynian". But with those numbers, one would really expect to see a wider variety of stuff.
