Car Service?

I SWEAR I saw a thread about recommendations for car services somewhere, but cannot find it, so --

I'm looking for a recommendation for a car service for getting me to the airport tomorrow; a 6 am pickup, going to LGA.

Someone on that other thread recommended Aricebo, but they don't take reservations. That makes me a little nervous. Anyone else have any recommendations?

Thanks. It'll just be me and one suitcase.

Lately I've found New Bell to be the most reliable service. But I haven't gone to an airport recently. Just around Brooklyn

I just took TransAcademy (on Lafayette & South Oxford) to LGA a couple of weeks ago. It was $35 to go there, $40 back. They take (and recommend) reservations.

I've also used Metroline, which is based in Williamsburg, with very good experiences. They don't typically need reservations -- they just say to call when you need it -- but I think there is the option. They used to be cheaper, but now their prices to LGA are almost as much as TransAcademy's.

My wife travels alot and she (and I) always use evelyn car service. They're usually on time and take reservations. Their cars are sometimes beat up, but all in all we like them the best.

I've used Myrtle to get to LGA with a reservation. I would do it again.

Puerto Rico (based in Bushwick, I think) is also good. I've used them for airport pick-ups more than once. 718-443-5555.

Subject: Car Service

we tried to use New Bell last week to Penn Station and they quoted a totally different (higher) price than the $20 posted on their website so othey are off our list now (shiesters). Myrtle is usually a good backup - never on time though if you are on a schedule.

I use International on Washington Ave (takes RSVPs) and Monaco as well...

also as an FYI I took Arciebo to the airport at 5am... and made a RSVP the night before... and they were waiting for me outside my bldg right on time.

Subject: car service

I've used Arciebo for the last five years, and only once (during the transit strike, so they can be forgiven!) did they fail to turn up. I've frequently called them five minutes before I needed them to collect me, and they have always been there.

I always use Evelyn they are very reliable I can hardly put down the phone and they are there..... Also will pick you up in the middle of the night in the most obscure bits of the city! True about the sometimes beat up cars though! 718-230-7882 think they hane an 800 number but cannot find it!
