Favorite places for Delivery?
So, my hubby and I order delivery...A LOT. Because, we're..ya'know..lazy
But lately it seems we've fallen into a rut. We have a few places we order from regularly (Hunan Delight for Chinese, Micheals for Italian, Joy for Indian) but it's getting rather boring and predictable....
So I was wondering if anybody had any other reccomendations! We need to add some excitement to our dinnertime experience.
SO! What are your favorite places for delivery, and your favorite dishes?

Gen on Washington for Sushi/Japanese. For delivery, I just try to stay away from anything that might get soggy, like tempura.
Teddy's on Washington for Greek or American food.
Gran Castillo on Flatbush & Park for pernil and rotisserie chicken. -
Chavella's for Mexican.
-
Amorina and Vegetarian Palate (try the tangerine "beef") are our standbys
-
Trat. Mulino
Nana -
Not sure on their range, but Lemongrass Thai food on 7th Ave is quick and tasty. The soups and sweet basil with chicken are my favorites.
I agree about El Gran Castillo--that sauce with the chicken is amazing and I think the maduros are a tasty side. -
If you're in the mood for just pizza, Gino's is good. Although I'd avoid ordering the garlic... even as a garlic-lover, that pizza was almost inedible... it was like they threw half a bottle of chopped garlic onto it.
-
I have to disagree with that one. I think Gino's (on Washington) is kinda horrible. If we're talking about the same place...
-
chavella's
taro sushi
noona sometimes -- more in the winter, and i don't know with the new menu
amorina
we DID order from red hot for chinese, but now they've decided we're too far away. :rambo: had disappointing chinese from hunan delight the other night -- any suggestions? -
I haven't found any chinese in the area that I like...

There's a Gino's on Flatbush, too, not sure if there's an affiliation. I still prefer Antonio's in my region.
 -

The Gino's on Flatbush is even worse. Seriously, and completely without hyberbole, you're better off with supermarket frozen pizza than from Gino's on Flatbush. Truly truly horrible.
Antonio's grandma pizza is my favorite in the area (not counting fancy pizza like Amorina and Franny's), but there's not a lot of competition. -

Helios greek restaurant on 6th ave + St Marks is awesome
great grilled octopus, taramosalata, salads and burgers -
chavella's is a gem; so cheap and delicious. Amorina is consistently good as well.

we have ordered from hing lung -- it's fine, but i'm looking for better.

hunan delight? -
Szechuan Delight is also great. They're in Park Slope, but they deliver. My husband and I went down to Fifth Avenue and collected menus along there. There's a good Mexican restaurant down there. Nana, which someone else mentioned. Also, for Japanese, Kiku.
They have some Latin food as well, Spanish, Italian, etc.
I think Helio's closed, didn't it? -
WOW! Thanks for all the suggestions folks! I'm going to have to collect some menu's from these places... I'm esp. phsyced about Teddy's because I am dying for some delicious greek food! I haven't been able to find nearly enough of that!
Sweet tea- I've only had one bad experience with Hunan, usually they are on top of their game. I just love them because the veggies are always nice and fresh tasting, and the quality of the food always seems great! My personal favorite is their Cold Spinach noodles with Peanut sauce (it's an app. but I eat it as a meal, I love it that much!) I've also loved their Cashew chicken (lots of cashews!) and my hubby is obsessed with their Orange chicken. -
definitely Taro sushi and Chavellas

hmmm, i found hunan d's sesame chicken disappointing. dry meat in too much sauce on a bed of drenched iceberg lettuce shreads. i'll admit that the zucchini that made up the vast majority of the shrimp and peanut dish was not so terrible for zucchini (a vegetable i don't much care for), but i wasn't paying for zucchini. the dumplings were weirdly sweet -- in fact, they tasted like ketchup. i know chinese food often has sugar in it, but every dish was super sweet, to my tastes.
maybe we just didn't order their best dishes, but since those are the things i like to order, any other suggestions? -
Referring back to Teddy's: does anyone know if they have a menu online anywhere? I'm curious about the place, but would love to check our prices before showing up.

I am totally seconding this post! I tried to find one last night, cuz I really wanted to try it, but had no luck! Perhaps other folks are more in the know then I....I might not be looking in the right places
For that matter, does anyone know if ANY of these place have online menus? -
I haven't seen Teddy's menu online... I think that most sandwich-type items are in the $6-8 region, most plates in the $10-13 area... pretty big servings and pretty tasty - a decent value, I would say.
-
Menupages has a decent number of the area restaurants covered, but Teddy's is pretty new, and not up, last I checked.
-
Y'know, I live probably a 10-minute walk from Teddy's. If I go there for dinner tonight, I'll scan the menu and post it here.

I really like their beef with broccoli and their hot & sour soup.

There's a vegan place that has an online menu, I think...
www.thevspotcafe.com
When I first found them, they were just opening and they were hesitant about their delivery options but that was a little while ago. They may have stepped it up. -
I think China Town Wok & Roll on Flatbush, 622-9363 is pretty good for Chinese food. I get lunch from there once a week.

Pretty consistent for basically fast-food chinese, plus while there, you can pick up some entertainment. (Those who've gone in may remember the side business.)
I still say for delicious hot and sour soup or coconut soup, try Lemongrass (7th and Lincoln, or nearby). That's my comfort food... -

Wait, you mean they actually sell food there?
