What's replacing the shoe store at 7th and Lincoln?

hopefully an awesome bar with cheap beer.
most likely a bank, a real estate office or asian food. -
or cell phone store!
-
Odd restaurants [old-folks home, vegan] seem to be the new trend on 7th Avenue.
Fern bar, next? -
i'd like to see a deli/bodega go in that space.
-
i agree about the deli/bodega.
and one that stays open late, preferably. -
I had another idea...what about a housing works thrift shop?
Might do well in that spot.
Or maybe a furniture/design store of some kind. It's a great corner right across from Ozzie's with a lot of foot traffic. -
I vote for a PS version of American Thrifty (Court St & Degraw, Brooklyn)
or a decent deli, maybe a GoodWill... I'm poor -
I saw a for rent sign with a phone number so i guess nothing's set in stone yet. I would love a awesome deli in the spot..

Y&B Deli is right down the street

..that sells honeybuns -
Mookie, fwiw when I moved to Lincoln Place 14 years ago that shoe store *was* a bodega.
-
I had an idea for a "lunch" shop. It would be nicely packaged but reasonably priced lunches that one can pick up on their way to work. all different pre-made sandwiches, salads and other items perfectly packaged.
Everything would be "green." -

We need a morning coffee stop. Even though Tea Lounge is near this location, it takes 15 minutes to get a beverage there. We need a clean place to quickly grab excellent and reasonably priced coffee (none of that $3.00 Starbucks or hot-brown-water-grocery-store/magazine-rack crap).

yep another whine bar would be apropos
-
it's directly across the street from ozzie's coffee.
-
I really liked that shoe store. ALways found something comfortable and affordable there. I'm so TIRED of all the shops leaving! Did their rent get jacked up? sigh
-
Ohhh goody, I can hardly wait to see what Park Slope will pull next from its bag of tricks! =D>
Let's take a look at the options:
Real Estate Agent
Cell Phone Store
Bank
Children's Clothing Boutique
'quirky' Coffee Shop
'zany' Bar
or, last but not least,
chic/ethnic Eatery
I can hardly contain myself! :rabbit: -
^ so....
bodega?
and honestly I cant think of anything I want that isn't already on flatbush or a few blocks down on either 7th or 5th.
everything I can think of is just wanting something a few blocks closer because im lazy. -
Real Estate Agent
It pains me to say this but I have to agree. I've ceased hoping for something interesting to open in PS.

My guess the space with divided in half so there will be rent coming in from two stoes and that total will be more than the rent possibility on it being one store.
No food store for sure!!!
Think cleaner business. -
It's a stuff shop. I stopped in tonight on my way to pick up some sweet basil chicken from Lemongrass.
I forget what the name is, but it's scarves and bags and jewelry and bobbles and such. It's nice and colorful. -
theres a store exactly like it (and I think the same name) on St. Marks in Manhattan. Its a Tibetan clothing store and has scarves and hats. Should do ok with families along with people who hate families.
also whats the deal with the indian clothing store on Berkeley and 7th. It looks worthless. -
A stuff store? That sounds good-i can use some gloves that don't cost $60!
-
Subject: tibetan store
I believe the prices are not cheap -
it's just a "holiday store" only around for a couple months and the "for rent" sign is still being displayed prominently in the window...
seems odd to have that and the other store of a similar kind just a few storefronts down next to oshima. although they never seem opened.
i wish that one on the corner would be a nice vintage, antique type joint.
anyone been up to repop on washington and park?
such a great place. -

Pret-a-manger?
Everything would be "green."
(cough)
actually, for a chain, they are fantastic -
yeah, maybe something more along the lines of that new place opening on 5th avenue...getfreshny i believe it's called.
they are going to carry homemade meals already prepared....
never tried pret a manger...heard good things though... -

Ozzie's is across the street, so no need for a coffee place. But the pre-packaged lunch idea is intriguing. My options are kinda limited and/or out-of-budget near where I work. -
Not sure if it's just there for a few months - I walked past tonight and they have a sign up "Mandalla Tibetan Store" and "Grand Opening" banners.
-
It was open as "Mandalla Tibetan Store" when I walked by yesterday in the afternoon. They hadn't replaced the shoe store sign yet though.
Howdy, Stranger!
