ACC(City Shelter) Cats in peril - can you help?

I know it can be disheartening to read about these cats that are to be euthanized but it's a situation where humans abandon
many cats at the city shelters and we ALL really have to figure out some way to help them. I wonder often in a kind world or one in which these shelters were *in* our communities, what we would do...

Thank you!

p.s. can you send on to others who might be able to help? These are Manhattan and Brooklyn shelters.

forwarded... with specific cats mentioned although they are all amazing and deserve homes, of course!

If you can adopt, that's wonderful... or if someone is even willing to provide foster care, either the ACC will foster out directly (depending on the location), or Debi Romano from SaveKitty can call the shelter to have the cat held or pulled for the fosterer.(note: contact jennifer - [email protected] - below if you can do that...)

Yvonne writes about the following cats in particular:

I wish I could send emails out to prospective adopters whenever there seems to be
an adoption crisis at ACC, like there is right now. I did notice a few exceptionally nice cats that your
friends might be interested in. In the Manhattan location, there is an exceptionally sweet neutered boy
named Stuart (A #645438) who is only 1 year, 8 months old, and they liked him so much they wrote a little
caption for him. There is also a pretty green eyed girl named "Joe" (A# 724046) who is only 2 years old
(but she is not spayed yet, so they would have to take her home the next day), and another pretty medium-long
haired black female with green eyes named Mocha (A#724919) who is already spayed.

In the Brooklyn shelter, there is a really beautiful mostly black long haired boy named Robin (A#724326)
who is already neutered and can go home right away. He has lovely medium to long hair, and they have
described his breed as a Tiffany, but I'm not so sure about the accuracy. He is such a handsome boy, and the
shelter staff described him as "no concern" which means he is really easy going. I personally would
choose Robin and Stuart as they are really nice and handsome too.

Also in Brooklyn, there is a little six month old spayed female named Emma (A#708442) who has been there
for twoyentire months, very, very unusual for that shelter. She must be extremely nice as they have even
already fixed her, probably for an event. They must really like her, but she can't possible have any time
left. She has already spent one third of her life in that shelter.

There are several others I could mention, but really, if you look at the intake date on all of the cats on
the website, all of them are in peril.

Thanks!
Jennifer
