Where do firemen / police officers hang out? — Brooklynian

Where do firemen / police officers hang out?

I would like to befriend a cop or two to come talk to my students about feeling alienated on the streets of New York.

And firemen are hot.

  • Farrell's in Windsor Terrace. Legendary.
  • key food on 5th ave.
  • When I lived in Park Slope, I used to see firemen shopping at Steve's C-Town just about every time I went in there. :)
  • They can't all look like this.

    Whoa baby. image

  • And firemen are hot.
    And usually married.
  • I second the suggestions people already made - Farrells and grocery stores - Key Food on 5th, Key Food on 10th Ave and Prospect.....
  • farrell's for firefighters; tom's for cops. and there are always the police stations at park place and washington or bergen and 6th ave. and the fire houses on union and elsewhere.
  • More importantly what do you look like?
  • Walk by the firehouse on Union between 6th and 7th. Embarrassingly good looking firemen of all ages.
  • so this fire extinguisher fell off the wall at work and knocked out some guy in our kitchen. someone pulled the smoke alarm b/c, obvi, the goop out of the fire extinguisher made them thing that there was a fire since it puffs out. so this big team of fire fighters shows up. every woman in the office is out in the hallways and comparing notes -- no one cares of the guy who got knocked out is ok. it's all "omg, that one - with the dark hair - so pretty!" or "the one with the arms ---- look at those arms!!!" etc. pathetic. I wanted to go out there and asked if any of them could read & clean but I thought that might be bitchy & picky.
  • I saw a ton at Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts on Flatbush and Prospect Heights. They have school programs also. You may want to call them up. I know they already have people they send out to talk to schools.
  • oh, and apparently some cops hang out at soda. with their SO's.

and I second the whole tom's thing - tons of cops there. there's almost always an INTERCEPTOR parked outside. :)
  • alafairnadia -- that's really funny.

Firefighters have bodies like comic book characters. I bet they're all totally married. I can still appreciate and go for a drink with a bunch of 'em. I love guy energy.
  • and don't they all live in staten island? or at least, wasn't that a sex and the city episode?
  • Yeah, and a lot live in Breezy Point and Bay Ridge, too. I'm looking for easy access from my hood, though.
  • well, Carnivore, Mrs.Carnivore, and i all thought we saw KwaC at Teddy's ...
  • I see them shopping in gangs (safety in numbers - those Pk Slope dames are desperate!) at the Key Food on 5th all the time. I do love a man who can get a good supermarket-shop on. Very attractive.

Dinkyla, perhaps you could hang about the produce aisle in distress over the non-opening plastic bags. Or something.

Do you think they shoplift at all? Sporting those enormous overalls perfect for stuffing a side of beef (and all the fixins) in, and who would ever accuse a fireman of stealing?
  • A KWAC sighting? At Teddy's..... hmmmmmm its possible, But I usually just grab a gyro there and run.
  • I was wondering if any one could tell where nurses hang out. And not any of those baggy scrub wearing ones either, the sexy nurses with the high heels and french aprons and whatnot.

The Co-op. Tea Lounge. The Key Food on 5th.
  • Ooohh... sexy nurses in sexy orange vests. I can fulfill my nurse and bow hunter fanatasies a the same time!

Are they ever in Ozzies on fifth? Do they breast feed openly?
  • Yes. Brazenly. But only in the presence of Irish firemen/police officers.

But what about a sexy irish fireman/police officer?

He should report immediately to Two Boots. These stilletos are killing me, my five-year-old is wailing with hunger and getting all tangled in this french apron, and I'm having trouble unfastening the top buttons of my tight uniform so I can feed him.

    It's an emergency.

Goddamnit! I left my sexy irish fireman/police officer gear in my purse outside Lee Lee's Valise the other day.

Would you settle for a sexy australian-american cafeteria worker?
  • You guys are cracking me up.

With or without helmet with corks?

Just hurry up - my uniform is all wet, there's an acrid smell coming from under the table, and this place is gentrifying fast.

Is it quicker by bus or train?
  • okay, now I'm just disturbed. fyi, for the ladies looking, if that was KWAC the C family & I saw -- he's kinda cute.

Natch, and a knit speedo and a bottle of disinfectant and whatnot.
  • disinfectant and whatnot.
Bloody oath! Now that's my cup of tea!

But, seriously, where can I find me an unmarried Australian/Croatian fireman?
