New Bar: Pacific Standard

Just passed by it on the way home. they're open tonight but nobody knows about it so it's empty
They plan on opening for real on Saturday
They're on 4th ave + St. Mark's, same block as 4th Ave Pub
And across the street from Cherry Tree

It's pretty spacious -- the back room reminds me a bit of Union Hall
Right now they just have a liquor license but they plan to serve food down the line

  • Yeah can't wait!
Fourth Avenue’s Bar Row between Bergen Street and St. Marks Place, which currently consists of the Cherry Tree and Fourth Avenue Pub, is about to get another member with the impending opening of Pacific Standard, an exposed-brick-and-wood-paneled watering hole.

  • Subject: has anyone been here yet?

do they serve food? How is the atmosphere and bartenders?
  • I stopped in there last Saturday. I don't know if I just wasn't in the mood or what, but it seemed really young. I'm 40, and I hang out with people of all ages, but I don't usually enjoy places where everybody is in their 20s. Variety, yes....

We walked in and out. There were a lot of people there, though.
  • I had an event there last week, about 30 people. It went swimmingly. Great beer, good people running the joint. Hope they stick around.
