  • Frank's Chop Shop.

    Google it.
  • there are always TONS of guys waiting for a haircut at the dominican joint on washington (across from ripple). no clue what kinds of haircuts they do but people show up when they're closing and beg them to stay open just a little longer to do their hair.
  • Joseph's at 7th and Union is good for a $20 haircut.

Just went there for the first time two weeks ago...got a haircut and a real shave for $10!
  • i cut my own hair. the last haircut I paid for was in '96. it isn't that hard to if you rock the scruffy look anyway.
  • how much is a cut at Frank's Chop Shop?
    anyone?
  • The best hair cut i have had in my years in the hood is on Saint Marks almost on the corner o 6th ave next to the vintage store, Ruthie's its called she gives the best haircuts for $20....
  • I've been going that little Haitian barbershop for five years. It's on Park Place next to Little Miss Muffin. I get the middle-aged balding guy buzz cut (a.k.a. "The #1") for $12.00. Nice guys, plus you can go next door for a BBQ chicken pattie afterwards. Extra yum!

    $25-30 - ask for Mr. B.

Last I paid for was in the 80s. Saves a lot of $$ over a lifetime.
  • My friend is a professional hair stylist and does appointments in-home near St Johns and Washington. He gives killer cuts, not 10 bucks but not 100 either, as you've asked. PM me and I'll send you his contact info.
  • Shorty's on Washington, just next to Mr. Ford's hall gives a good cut for $10, as well as a real shave with warm, lathered shaving cream.
  • I like the old fashioned park slope barber shop, reminds me of the good old days before saloons and beauty shops.
  • At X-mas, they actually serve booze while you get a cut! Fantastic.

    The one on 7th Ave?

    That's where I go.
  • Like 7th near 1st street, kinda deep in the slope, right?
  • It's a great men's hang out, actually a lot of men do seem to hang out even if they are not getting a hair cuty.
  • I recommend Delilah's on 4th. For $30, I got a good haircut. Better than a barber, cheaper than most salons. The hair cutter (Lelia?) was nice and happy to spend time talking about what I wanted.

I've tried other places, and spent more money, but you can see me at Joseph's too, promptly every three months....
  • I am also a big fan of Joseph's. Five years and counting.
