    I didn't actually look at the cartoon, was just responding to his assertion that only people who are themselves racist can perceive racism. If that was his point. I guess I don't know what his point was. I just thought it was an unusual spin.

    The problem is that most "black" people in this country are actually "multi-racial". There was a show on PBS last year that traced the ancestry of a number of prominent blacks (I just remember Whoopi Goldberg and Chris Tucker). In addition to tracing their ancestry they did DNA tests to determine their genetic makeup. Henry Louis Gates was host and he talked about the fact that the average African-American is 20% European genetically. In this country appearance is what determines racial identity not genetic makeup or personal preference. Its what makes Wentworth Miller white and Tiger Woods black (or at best not white) even though they both are bi-racial.

    I think what you mean is that a lot of black Americans are biracial There are a sizeable number of African immigrants in this country (like myself) not descended from slavery, who are presumably 100% African.

    No, I actually meant most people with black skin. Setting aside native born blacks, my belief is that the majority of immigrants in this country that are visually considered to be black come from the Caribbean and South America with blacks from Africa and Europe rounding out that group.

    While most African immigrants may be closer to 100% African, my point was that people from the Caribbean and South America (which make up a significant portion of the Black Diaspora descendants in this country) have a similar genetic background of African, European, Asian and Native indigenous ancestors.

    I thought there were a sizeable number of immigrants here from African countries, hence my previous post. The post explained that the multi-racial aspect tends to apply to black people who are descendents of slaves. So, you are right, Caribbean and south American black people would fall into that category.

    They deliver to Prospect Heights (at least as far as Underhill), so presumably they'd go at least as far in the other direction. I'd bet that how far they'll go depends on how much you're ordering.

    I wish the local delivery options would print their delivery range on their menues like most places do in Manhattan.

  • I have to say, I don't care about their website or their lack of website admin skills. Their scallion pancakes, moo-shu vegetarian chicken, and vegetarian sesame chicken are insanely delicious.

  • Thanks to this thread, I ordered from them. I had no idea that any Chinese restaurant in Park Slope was any better than any other. Wow, this place was good. I got the veggie sesame chicken and it was great. :D I am throwing out all my other Chinese menus.

    Yes, it's gluten. They also have bean curd (tofu) dishes, but the gluten is what makes me salivate.

    Tofu bores me unless its swimming in onions, garlic, and chili sauce, but I LOVE wheat gluten! I’m eating wheat gluten “chicken” salad on wheat bread right now.
