Most of the problems there seem to stem from the broken lock on the front door. Get that fixed and I'll bet a lot of the crap (literally) will go away. As far as complaining about some garbage in the street after the carnival, come on. Give it a break. It is reasonable for that to take a day to get cleaned up. It was pretty bad around my place, but by the next day it was fine.

The guy has a point. Before my current apartment, I lived a few blocks over - on Washington by Crown. In the elevator, there was always human pee on the floor in the corners, plus gang scrawl on the walls. I think it was drunk tenants or teenagers from the building. There was pee in the lobby too - and it wasn't from dogs (unfortunately after years of living in the city, you can easily distinguish the difference by smell :puker: ). Yuck! The lock wasn't broken on the front door, but apparently it was a big enough building that people felt anonymous enough to use it as a public urinal. :puker:

Well, that is discouraging. I still thinking fixing the front door lock would be a good (and mandatory) first step, then go from there. If the residents are pissing on the floor, then perhaps some security cameras would take care of that, or at least identify the pissers.

OMG- did I just advocate the use of security cams? I must go wash myself. Twice.

There were some chicken bones on the stairwell in my building over Labor Day weekend, but the super chalked it up to the weekend, and it was all gone by Tuesday.
