New Restaurant Next to Commonwealth — Brooklynian

New Restaurant Next to Commonwealth

They have a sign on the door for an open house for waitstaff today.

It's going to be called "Piramides" (pyramids) and the food is described as "modern Mexican".

Looks like it's going to open soon. Hope it's good

  • Hum, wonder what the background is on the name?
  • I think it's Spanish. No, not being snarky. I mean Spain Spanish.
  • I meant why Pyramids if it's a modern mex place?
  • hmmm....then what is "modern Mexican" about a Spanish restaurant? Because those are the words on the poster on the door.

I'm thinking really Mexican, but not sue what region. There are a lot of ruins in Mexico which are pyramids....hence "Piramides"
  • Chichen-Itza? (i'm grasping at straws)

Sorry I said Mex instead of Spanish only by habit. I know there are pyramids in mex. and I'm not saying anything whatsoever negative about the name they chose. I am only being curious. It's an interesting name, I wonder why they chose it.. what kinda food they'll serve...

Either way, happy to see more tasty stuff in the area.
