Free Yoga in the Park
I saw flyers for "Free Yoga in the Park" at Long Meadow in Prospect Park for this Sat (9/8) 10-11am around 5th Ave where I live. Flyer says to meet just thr tunnels leading to park and to look out for a woman in red with orange mat. It is signed off by a Liz Tortolani.
It sounds wonderful and I'd like to go. Has anyone else seen this flyer? I do hope this is not some cheap marketing thing (free yoga in the park...sign up for my class!) but an honest way to get the community together (like how random ppl meet up to play soccer in the park). I could do this often if it's the latter.
Anyway, just letting y'all know.

It was legit and it was AWESOME. What an awesome way to start the weekend and Liz was incredible in her instruction. She'll have this every Saturday 10-11am. Lucky us!

It sounds like you are Liz, or else Liz is your good friend/relative/S.O. Is this the case?
Either way, would require that any commercial interests be disclosed up front. Posting without disclosing your relationship to the business/individual involved is called shilling. Also, this post is probably more appropriate for The Classifieds board. Here are the site rules:

Thanks! -
Dailyheights: It's odd if you think I'd be Liz or have commercial interest after my initial post asking if anyone HAD heard of Liz and I had also indicated that I was wary that her flyers could be some marketing scam.
No, I'm not Liz nor do I know Liz before I met her last Saturday. But I attended the session giving the flyer the benefit of the doubt, and Liz turned out to be a genuinely nice person who is actually doing this out of interest. 4 of us random ppl turned up plus a boyfriend and her cousin. She told us she is doing this cos she was doing yoga in the park with her boyfriend and he suggested that she invited other people along to do yoga together as a community thing. There's no commercial interest here cos it's entirely free.
I posted a follow-up to let everyone know that this turned out NOT to be a scam at all and I had such a great experience doing yoga in the park (outdoors vs. in an air-conditioned studio) last Saturday.
I assume this board is appropriate cos I see this more as a community activity than a classified/commercial thing. Or maybe this should be under the "fitness" board? How do I cross post?
ANYWAY, just wanted to spread the good word. Come join us this Saturday if you like. Namaste. -
Sorry for presuming you *might* be a shiller. We do have consistent problems with that, so thanks for your patience. Glad you enjoyed the yoga.

Does anyone know if this still happens? If so, what are the dates and times? It sounds great with warmer weather approaching.
Howdy, Stranger!
