good place for nachos, beers and margaritas

I've had good margs at Santa Fe on 7th ave (I think that's the name?) Alafairnadia may have to confirm this for me.
However I've never eaten there so I can't vouch for their food.
I've eaten at Lobo on 5th ave and it was fine. I came in not expecting authentic food, so i wasn't really disappointed. Only had beers though, no margaritas. -
I'd stick with santa fe. if you do end up at lobo, ask for the white cheese or you'll end up with velveeta.

Cantina (4th ave and 11th) has great margartias and great food. You can even get your margartias pitcher-style! Very dangerous. Oh, and the burritos are HUMONGOUS!!!

i think we're gonna go the santa fe route. it being arond the corner from my apt and all..i can have that extra margarita and i'll still be able to find my house (i'm a real lightweight) :lol
thanks!
on a side note, has anyone ever been to burrito kitchen on flatbush (the raindbow sign)? i always wanted to try it but never did. -
How was Santa Fe ilovecarbs?
Are their nachos worthwhile? -

Don't bother. It is terrible. I made multiple attempts to find something better than mediocre on the menu, but most of it was worse than that. And the margaritas are totally weak. -
I have to respectfully disagree with Carnivore. The bartenders will make your margarita any way you like it, so I always order mine a "tad" on the stronger side, and they are always perfect. They use only fresh juices and purees for all the drinks (see the ample use of the Vitamix, and watching them feed oranges and lemons into the funky juicing conveyor-belt-like contraption on the left end of the bar is endlessly entertaining). They may be weak at some food items, but I've found the fish soft tacos (grilled mahi mahi with chipotle mayo and mango salsa), the warm fajita salad, the taco salad, and the mole rojo to be consistently delicious. My friend from Mexico said the mole is right-on authentic. I just know it's good and not heavy like at some places I've sampled in Manhattan.
The vibe at the bar is always friendly, so I have dinner there about once every 2 weeks or so. Always yummy and a good time. Try the pomegranate margarita, or the fresh ginger martini. Ask for chips and salsa - they are homemade and exceptional. Great place to unwind and have a great meal after a trying work day. I know a lot of people have dismissed this place out of hand, but I can't understand why. That said, I'm trying Chavella's tonight and can't wait! -
Is Uncle Moe's any good?
Usually when I want something fairly authentic, I'll hit Nuevo Mexico or shlep down to the Red Hook ballfields, and if I'm in the mood for a big honkin' burrito, and quick, I'll hit up Rachael's. But Uncle Moe's is closer to my place than either of those ... impressions? -
i always go to cantinas. i used to live across the street, so that might be why...however, they have the best guac I've ever had. it's a family owned spot, good food. the beer is sometimes flat but they make great frozen margaritas. try the kiwi--i think it's the best!
