FREE Daffodil bulbs to plant from NY4Parks

is doing another distribution of flower bulbs -- some of us on the board got them last fall to plant in tree wells etc.

To get the bulbs, you must promise to plant them in public spaces -- they're not for your yard.
Last year they arrived later than expected, which is what ny4p is referring to in the note below.

In Brooklyn, the pickup point is usually Prospect Park. Fill your tree well with daffodils!

As many of you know, planting season is fast approaching. As is the tradition, New Yorkers for Parks will again distribute daffodil bulbs in all five boroughs this fall. To avoid any scheduling nightmares or experience dÃ©jÃ vu from last year, we will send another e-blast with the complete schedule of distribution sites after we receive the bulbs from Holland. For orders less than 1,000 please visit one of the distribution sites in your borough. To reserve your order 1,000 or more daffodil bulbs today, please log onto our website, www.ny4p.org.

I'm so excited about this I've been wanting to do something about that nasty tree pit.

When they actually get the bulbs, they're going to send out another notice, which I'll post here when I get it...prolly October.

Or you can keep an eye on The Daffodil Project on their site.

They've passed out the bulbs at Grand Army Plaza, and at the Picnic House, in the past.

Rally nice of you to share this. Any idea on dates/ times to pick them up. Have tons of ideas for them and would LOVE to plant them in public places.
