2 rescued construction site kitties need homes!
Meet Siri and Bob the Builder! They are sister and brother and were rescued several weeks ago from a construction site in Brooklyn, where they were in danger of literally being walled in with no way out! They are negative for FIV and FeLV, and are healthy across the board - also spayed and neutered, of course!
They have been in foster care for several weeks and unfortunately, the lease is up soon - they need to move on to another home, and unless we can find one for them, we may have to return them outside. A managed colony would be better than the awful, dirty, dangerous place they came from, but we think it would be a shame to have to go that route once they've already been rescued, are healthy, and have begun to adjust to life indoors.
Siri and Bob are semi-feral cats who really have potential to adjust, but who will need a lot of time and patience from a person with a big heart willing to help save their lives again. Siri is a little more approachable than Bob right now, and although she will cower away from you at first, once you start petting her, she enjoys it - she just purred for the first time the other day!! They could really use a stable, loving, long-term home where they can learn to trust people a little more and to relax in their own time. If you have it in your heart to help rescue one or both of these cats again, please email [email protected] or [email protected] - we will be more than happy to talk to you about Bob and Siri, caring for semi-feral cats, or setting up a time for you to visit them.
Thanks!
Aimee

do you have pictures?
-
I do, but am mortified to say that I couldn't figure out how to upload them! It's got to be something completely obvious that for some reason I am just missing...any tips?
-
I've used this site:
http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com/
Upload
Copy address
Bookmark the allyoucanupload page address so if you have problems later you can copy the links again
come back here
paste links
Click the Preview button below your post then:
highlight each individual url and one at a time click IMG button to make each pic embedded.
Click preview again to make sure it worked. Then Submit.
It's the long way. Maybe there's an easier way? -
And as noted in the "READ BEFORE YOU POST: Tips for using this forum" thread...
You can include images from Flickr, PhotoBucket, or another online photo hosting service in your post. If you don't know how to do that, send a private message to me by clicking the PM button below this post and I will be happy to upload your pet's photo to my own Flickr account so that I can then post the picture in the thread. -
Subject: photos of Siri and Bob
Ok - thanks for all the photo tips - hoping this works...
Pix are from a camera phone - will try to get some clearer ones up soon!
Siri is the smaller of the two (on the left in the pictures of them together.)
Thanks again! -
When you're in flickr get a large view of the picture by clicking on the thumbnail, then right-click on the picture and open "properties". Next, copy the address from http:// to .jpeg (but not the stuff after jpeg). And that is what you paste. Then use the Img button...

Nope, your Flickr pics are set to private

I just sent her detailed instructions on what to do with the Flickr pics, so give her a few minutes to try those...

Subject: Photos - for real this time!
Phew! Thank you all so much for your patience - clearly I am better at resucing and working with cats than with anything related to computers! Appollonia666 - thanks SO much for the help. I want to be able to post cats here in the future and it's great to now have a handle on uploading photos! These were taken with a camera phone - better ones on the way.
These 2 have the run of their foster mom's bathroom, but like to spend time together in their crate as well...
Bob...
Siri, doing her squinty-thing (her eye is fine, really! one just seems squintier than the other!)
Siri & Bob...
These cats were rescued about a month ago through the efforts of the volunteer group at Infinite Hope in Brooklyn. We managed to find a great foster hom for them, but only temporarily...now their time there is running out. We are hoping against all odds to find someone willing to help out one or both of them so that they don't have to go back to life outdoors! If anyone out there has experience socializing or would like to learn more about it, just PM me and I'd be happy to speak with you! It's a truly rewarding experience to see a cat begin to trust and make progress, and that' what we're hoping for with these 2 beauties!
