  • I loved that store. I thought I heard the owner say they might move to Vermont??? Very sad to see that store go.
  • That store was so cute! I can't believe the market in that area couldn't support that store.
  • Cute. Hmph. Overprice "lifestyle" pieces I could do without. Nest, Home, , Cog and Pearl, nope, they don't Matter to me. The 1st time I went into Nest was during their clearance; and even THAT was crazy expensive. buh-bye sez I.
  • Nest was one of the first places to grace the barren south slope strip - i bought many gifts there and i enjoyed the store very much - i wish them luck and thanks for beautifying our community for the time you were there.
  • Everytime I walked in there, I felt a very cold shoulder from the man behind the counter. He never said hello, never asked if he could help us, nothing.
  • They weren't the first eatshoplocal!! Don't make me list the stores, going back from when Otto started on 10th st!@ Nest was a cold place to roost.
Im sure they'll find a nice new home in Soho.

i'm sad i missed the sale; there was a pendant lamp in the window i'd been eyeing for over a year.

and the reasons the places you list are expensive is because the items are handmade by actual artists, not by factories in china.
  • Hey chipster - i said ONE of the first - how about you list the stores since it seems you have time.
  • ..and while your at it make a list of the stores in the south slope that have come and gone - im sure that list will be longer.
  • I always stopped in Nest when I was down that way, but I don't think I ever bought anything. The merchandise looked cool in the store, but most of it was too modern for my taste, and there wasn't enough variety. Granted, it was a small space, but I could look at all the goods in 5 minutes, and I feel like whenever I'd go back, nothing had really changed. I wish them luck in their new location, though. Hopefully they'll have more space, and can stock a wider variety of stuff.
