other thread reminded me how much white liberal racist are much worse than conservative. at least with conservatives you know where they stand.

liberal racist would do things behind your back and say condescending things and act as if they are helping you, in realty they are holding people back.

Actually, what makes the "liberal white racist" so offensive is they usually have little clue about how racist they really are. The lack of self-awareness is what makes them dangerous.

I think I get what you're trying to say, a_w. My dad told me when he was still working in the Northeast, he worked with a black man who had grown up in the South. The man said he experienced a lot of racism in the North, but it was less overt, and so it wasn't always clear. He said at least in the South, he knew where he stood with people. (BTW, I'm not trying to stereotype any region here - just reporting someone else's anecdotal opinion.)

That said, I think people would be more receptive to the topic if you had provided some anecdote of your own in the OP, so we'd know what brought you to this way of thinking. Otherwise, how do we know you're not flame-baiting?
