Bonnies Grill on Sundays — Brooklynian

Bonnies Grill on Sundays

We love Bonnie's Grill but our experience today will make us think twice before going again on a Sunday. First our wookie of a waiter was overworked and didn't hold back on letting it show. Second there was some guy screaming at the Giants on TV.

IS it a bar or a restaurant? The family next to us had the same experience and had to remind them that they still had to pay and they REALLY wanted to get out of there.

But, as always, food was great.

  • the couple times i've been and whenever i walk by i'd never say to myself that bonnie's looks like the kinda place to sit down, eat and read a book.

i think it comes with the territory.

it's a sometimes loud, diner-y type place with good food.

if you want quiet, check out that new horrific italian place by the key food on 7th ave.

you can hear a pin drop in there...

I never said I wanted a library - but someone SCREAMING at the television that I cant hold a conversation is too much. They do have seats and tables so I assumed that sitting and eating were what you were supposed to do :P

But my point was twofold, there was ONE loud crazy person AND the waiter was losing it.

I know they have a large Bills fan base there and I can get that if the whole restaurant is cheering and watching the game.

I dunno, maybe Sundays during football season we'll go somewhere else.

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. I don't mind a lively joint when I'm eating but people yelling at a TV screen is a bit much. Especially if it's NOT a sports bar.
  • Maybe it's because i despise sports, but I have NEVER understood what can possess a person to yell at a tv. I mean, I'm a big America's Next Top Model fan, and still I never get the urge to yell at Tyra.
  • They (owners and patrons) like their sports, that's why they have 2 tv's.
I've been in there during a game and yeah it can get loud. For some reason I haven't been bothered by it. Maybe because I'm so focused on the enormous juicy burger in front of me. I've never had a problem with the service either. I did notice they were training a few new servers recently so that might have factored in to your experience.

But you DO get the urge to choke her, don't you?

Oh, god yes. I'd probably yell while choking her.
  • Not yelling at the screen is like ordering a burger and throwing out the beef.

You mean not everyone does that?
