Inconsiderate Neighbor
This is an open announcement to the resident of the Clinton Hill Coops who owns the maroon Impala always parked on Waverly.
What makes you think that we all want to hear your music blaring from your car while you "dust/polish/shine" the car you never seem to drive. Don't you know that your blaring music travels right up the Waverly side of the buildings? You are so inconsiderate. Some of us work nights and need to sleep during the day.
You have been warned.
Next step is to begin calling NYPD as you are in violation of the NYC Noice Ordinance.

Why not just go downstairs and have a nice discussion about it? Often times people don't realize that what they are doing is affecting other people.

He has been spoken too and he just continues to blare his music like he's the owner of the street. -
We've had a lot of problems with noise at the CH co-ops. I don't know why people think it's acceptable to hang out talking in the courtyard until 3 am so that all of us are kept up all night. They usually do not respond to security, so I don't think they would respond to a resident asking them to quiet down. I have called 311 repeatedly and have never seen a police officer stop by. Does 311 even do anything?

It has been mentioned on Brooklynian before that you might be better off getting the number for your local precinct and calling them directly.

Sounds like he is a fool. He has his prize possession parked on the street, yet he feels he can just piss people off without repercussion? Wont be too long before someone "customizes" his ride.

It's been discussed..................... -
Wow - I've actually been pleasantly surprised in the few years I've lived in the co-ops how quiet it is! Maybe it's just my particular courtyard? The one time people were being loud - and it was after 10p (which is official closing time in the courtyard) - I just called the secuirty booth and they took care of it.
But crazy loud guy on the street is another matter. Call the 88th Precinct on that one. -
Community Affairs 88th pct. 718-636-6526. Also call 311 and keep the complaint number. If they don't respond at least you have a record of this. Call every day if you have to. Thats what I did.

Seems to me then like you're fully justified in taking the next step if you've already done the neighborly thing and talked with the gentleman face-to-face.
Howdy, Stranger!
