Traditionally, Iranians weren't anti-Semitic and until the Ayatollahs came into power, Jews were well-integrated in society. While there was a mass exodus of Iranian Jews after 1979 (my high school homeroom had a couple), there are still small Jewish communities in Iran to this day. And for the most part, except for the fact that their lives are more restricted than they used to be (I think Jewish women also have to wear chadors, but I might be wrong), they seemed to have done ok.

OTOH, being a lesbian is a capital offense.

She claimed it was "satire" in her radio interview, but admitted that most people would not understand that...so...

Whenever I read something like that I am reminded of a Dennis Miller quote:

"Contrarianism is creativity for the talentless"

teh gays of iran are going to get more attention than usual now
