I think all of the Iranian queers moved to Japan ...
wtf, daihatsu? this is the craziest campaign to sell daihatsus to germans - I just don't get it, beyond the obvi gayness. are there really that many gay men in germany that need direct marketing?

I thought the punchline was going to be that the PM of Japan said something about all teh gays being foreigners.

As for Germania, I say: Hasselhoff.
And I want the dancing cowboy as my next avatar. -

Omigod! That was _soo_ funny.
And odd.
Too.
And truly, Brokeback Mountain meets a Japanese car in Germany? WTF? -
Direct marketing to gays is hardly a new phenomenon is this country, though I'm hard pressed to think of The Gay Car in this country. I don't think any car has been specifically marketed to gays in this country though there is a gay cable channel, gay resorts, gay b&b's, etc.
I found myself clicking on the links again and again just to watch that cowboy wiggle his ass at me. Yee haw!

subaru. big gay campaign in the late 90s; here are a bunch of the ads:
http://www.commercialcloset.org/cgi-bin/iowa/themes.html?brand=51&searchwords=SUBARU
i can't find the first one i remember, which had cute little pairs of cars, some pink and some blue, and text about how they were happy to sell to gay couples, happy to sell to lesbian couples, and, heck, they'd even sell to straight couples, but here's a nice one from early one: -
Seriously, that dancing cowboy is bizarre. But he's a nice change from the busty blondes that usually appear in car ads.
-
I once overheard a gay co-worker refer to the Mini Cooper as a "Volkswagen Beetle for straight guys" so... (he was referring to the '98-present Beetle).
-
Are you serious? The mini-Coopers seem kinda girly to me. They're so cute!
I must have missed those Suburu ads because I don't remember them. -
My question is, when did Beetles become the gay man's vehicle of choice?

And one that is actually (probably) somewhat accurate:
http://www.gaywheels.com/top_10_researched_vehicles_on_1.htm
which doesn't even have the beetle on it, although it does have the Jetta, EOS, and Rabbit. -

"Best Lesbian Moving Van"
Sounds perfect for that second date haul.

Aw man, ya can't leave the people hanging like that!

Best Lesbian Moving Van
2007 Subaru Forester
What's a top gay car list without top lesbian picks? This year, the Forester takes the moving van honors. Columnist Kathy Belge says, "The Subaru Forester is great for lesbians with kids or dogs." Do lesbians not like cats and pickups anymore? -
Silly me. I didn't think inanimate objects had a sexual orientation.
