  • Subject: Y on 9th Street

I haven't attended any of the ballet classes, but the Y on 9th Street between 5th and 6th Aves. offers adult ballet classes throughout the week. They have schedules at the front membership desk.
  • I think the dance school on PPW (and I think 15th Street) has adult evening classes.

I'll get more details from her if you are still interested.
Would you mind posting the info. The classes I go to now are in Manhattan and I would love to find one closer to home.
  • I don't know of any studios for adults in Bklyn, but a great place to take adult beginner ballet is BroadwayDanceCenter.com. They just opened beautiful new studios in Times Square.
  • I take the beginner's ballet class at the Mark Morris dance group, which is next to BAM. The class is from 7 to 8:30, for $12 per lesson. No reservation needed. You can just walk in. If you buy a card for 10 classes, you save $1 for each class. (10 classes for $110)

For me the class is not quite for complete beginners, but the the teacher pays extra attention to new comers. And I love the fact that there's a live pianist.
