Drug Dealers and Locations - Roll Call — Brooklynian

Drug Dealers and Locations - Roll Call

I just finished reading a couple of threads and the topic of drug dealers came up on a number of occasions. I think it would be a good idea to have a thread where people can indicate the who, what, where and when of the drug activity that they see or suspect and perhaps this thread can serve as fuel for the police or DEA crime engine.

Personally I don't see any drug dealing in my neighborhood, doesn't mean it's not there, I just don't see it.

  • the house next to me is growing what seems to be a rotating crop of about 10-15 pot plants. they've been going at it since May, and did it last summer as well. Judging by the amount of people coming in and out of there, my best guess is that they're selling it because its just way too much pot for one person.
I've also seen needles in their front yard more than a handful of times.
  • I get whistled at every now and then (not in that way!) buy guys sitting in their cars at dekalb and adelphi. otherwise, nothing to report around the navy yard where i live. the corners are free of all that.
  • I am friends with the community relations person in the DA's office. She gave me a narcotics hotline number and said to have a lot of people call. 646-610-6610. You can also call her at 718-250-3370.
  • Um... just keep in mind that you don't know who is reading this site, okay? We've already had at couple of incidents where someone figured out the identity of a user and confronted them offline. Nothing too hairy -- nobody's been hurt or anything -- but it might not be the smartest or safest thing to post an allegation of criminal activity on a website like this one.
  • ^and this is why I don't post my address. I've called the cops a few times, nothing happens...
  • Grand & Atlantic looked like a drug bust this morning
  • I think it was a car accident, I drove by around 9:3o

One can still be anonymous and post on this board...If you profile has too much identifying information, you can always log out and then post the way that I'm doing now.

Indeed you can. Just keep in mind that the moderators and admins can still see your IP address, that sockpuppetry generally isn't cool here -- although for something like this I think it's understandable, and that you should still follow the site rules. (You haven't broken any, as far as I can tell, but I just want others who may decide to post anonymously to remember that!)

I would argue that using anonymity in this way isn't sockpuppetry. Sockpuppetry has an implied intent to deceive, I would argue that there would be NO intent of deception in such posts, only protection. Hell, people might should consider posting anonymously in a poor restaurant review, if history is to be heeded.

Fine. I just wanted to make sure that people who read the suggestion about posting anonymously understand it's not fine and dandy to do that any old time they don't want others to know what they're saying, that's all.
  • Instead of busting just the dealers, why not bust the users also?

If there is no demand then there is no supply. Not defending the drug dealers, but SOMEONE in the hood is keeping them in business.

So those who want to post about the seller should also list those they know who use as well  , attack the problem from both sides right?

After all, no one HERE ever USES drugs right, its just the dealers who keep the business going....
