Here's one of the world's top pianists, Glenn Gould, playing the last part of Bach's Goldberg Variations. I strongly recommend watching this all the way through. His performance of the Aria da Capo is spine chilling.

yup, i have a feeling i won't make it out to HWM's reunion show in Jersey, so atleast I'll get to see him play solo at Maxwell's. I think he even does a few Hot Water songs.

The story behind this is pretty funny. The Puerto Rico Symphony bus had broken down, so the only people to have made it to the concert on time was the trombone section, so they did this impromptu performance of an arrangement of an Albinoni trio sonata to entertain folks while they waited for the rest of the orchestra to arrive.

That almost beats the story of the time I was in an orchestra that played for the Israeli army in the Negev desert in honor of a pit found from King Solomon's time.
