  • I have used a small shop in Greenpoint, not local, but did a good job for me. It’s a one woman show and she does mostly wedding and formal gowns. I don’t remember name/address of hand, if that would interest you, I will look it up.
  • that would be great, esp since i work in bburg. plus, it's a vintage dress i'm wearing to my bro's wedding.

    thank you in advance!
  • I don’t remember the name, last time I used it was 2 years ago and I can’t find the card.
The shop is on the corner of Driggs Ave and Leonard St in Greenpoint. She has wedding dresses displayed in the window, you can’t miss it.
Hope this helps. I have a card somewhere, but I also have renovation going on and until it’s done, I can’t promises I will find it.
  • Based on recommendations from this board I've used Randex Dry Cleaners for basic and somewhat more complex tailoring work. 6th Ave. at 5th St. The tailor is very good and I trust her with expensive clothes, although she charges fairly high prices for the work.

Based on a recommendation from the lady who runs the designer consignment store on 5th Av in Park Slope, I've gone to Nelson Tailor on 176 Rivington between Attorney and Clinton on the Lower East Side. I needed to have a vintage dress tailored and Nelson did an excellent job for not much money. Fairly inconvenient - a long walk from the subway and the place is more or less a dump - but I'd recommend it based on the couple of things I've taken there.
