They alll steal. Really.
-
they aren't for me, for a friend who just moved into nyc. i never use one
. -
i've been using someone for half a year and i'm nitpicky, so if she stole, i'd notice

i would need to ask for her permission first, but if she's looking for new clients, i'll PM you her info. -
bump still needs one. my friend just call
. she is sad hers didn't show up.
its her first time hiring one and person didn't bother to show up
. -
So, what's the deal when you do hire one? Do you have to leave the apt while they clean, or can you go about your regular business?
-
In my opinion it is good form to leave the apartment when someone is cleaning for you. You come back about when they will wrap it up and pay them.... and check to see if they have stolen anything.. just kidding!

This chick Janet I used is a real star. I'd highly recommend her. I can give you her information in you PM me with interest.

Agree - you should leave and come back as they are finishing to check out the job they did and pay them.
Nobody likes to work with somebody standing over them, and if they really want to steal something, they can do it even with you at home. -
Let's talk about reliable and honest. 20 years ago at least I found a "polish connection"...a nice lady who helped other polish women find domestic work.
We started out with "Yasha" (who is now referred to in our house as Yasha One. She was an older woman and she cleaned for us for years. . One of my teenage son's really couldnt get with this. he would come home from school and there would be an "old woman" on her hands and knees washing the floors. Older to him at that point was older than 35... which was my age. Well perhaps he was right because one day Yasha was coming home on the bus and had a stroke and died. We went to the funeral.. turns out she was 72 at the time. Gee she really looked younger than that!
On to Yasha Two... who told us that her name was Elizabeth but she went by the name Yasha.her Engliah was perfect, probably because she was a physicist or something like that in Poland. She liked to give advice on Menopause. She cleaned for us till 4 years later she went back to Poland.
Our current Yasha works 5 days a week.. all off recommendations to our friends. She puts things away... never to be found. Husband has developed a new verb when he can't find something (which happens to him often with or without a "Yasha")...He says,"It has been yashed." She is honest and reliable.
Anyway... all the people who helped us keep the house clean came from this connection I made with Lydia. If anyone is interested Pm me and I will give you her number and the secret code to get in to this loop of reliable, honest and decent housekeepers. -

Wait, Veets, I don't get it, do you really never find these things she puts away, like, she steals them? if so, how is this honest ---might be reliable if she is consistent about it though ;-)
On to Yasha Two... She puts things away... never to be found. .... She is honest and reliable.
I must be misunderstanding you.
Anyway, if it is a matter of things not really being stolen, please PM me the contact info, costs and that sort of thing :-)
thanks! -
No Mr Kosher... she doesn't steal!! She puts things away in places that are sometimes not obvious. Oh and one more thing.. my current Yasha does put "like with like" items so if I am reading a book I need to put it somewhere where she doesn't touch it.. If she sees books by the bed she put them on the book shelves.. logical.. however.. we have many book shelves and though they are arranged alphabeticall she just tucks the books in somewhere on the shelves...
As I said my housefeeper is not available but I can give you the source person if you want.
PM ..me. -
