FREE Daffodil bulbs to plant from NY4Parks, Oct 27

I've posted before about the free bulbs (there's a long thread in Crown Heights)
- you have to agree to plant them in a public place (like a tree well)
- and now they have arrived.

As part of the Daffodil Project, New Yorkers for Parks will distribute bulbs at the following sites.

Brooklyn: Saturday Oct 27, 9am-Noon
Prospect Park Green Market at Grand Army Plaza

Bronx: Sunday October 28, 9am-Noon
Joyce Kilmer Park between Grand Concourse/
Walton & East 161-164

Manhattan: Saturday October 13, 10am-2pm
Union Square Park Green Markets
Union Square West and 14th street

Queens: Sunday 0ctober 14, 10am-2pm
Forest Park/the Overlook
Near the Corner of Union Turnpike and Park Lane
&
Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center
Queens Blvd between 62 avenues and 62 road

Staten Island: Sunday October 28, 10am -2pm
Silver Lake Tennis House
at Silver Lake Park
42 Revere Street of Hart Blvd
Intersection of Forest Avenue

This year they're just telling people to show up and pick 'em up, for amounts under 1000 bulbs.

Subject: daffodils a bust

I sent my husband to go get bulbs at GAP this morning but he was sent away empty handed. Apparently you had to pre-register to be able to get bulbs. Who knew?

how annoying! i got there not long before noon, and they were already gone. i was disappointed, but i'm somewhat relieved to hear that i wouldn't have gotten any bulbs even if i had left the house earlier.

the email I got from them said not to bother preregistering for anything under 1000 bulbs.
