We are seeking volunteers to help with a fundraising project for a new education model school here in Brooklyn.
Our school opened in Sept. 2007 and we are seeking volunteers with some fundraising skills or background to help us create an exciting and fun fundraising campaign.

I just came across this online. If anyone is looking to do a little volunteering for the holiday, a local Bed-Stuy soup kitchen is looking for folks to assist with their holiday food and toy drive this weekend (Dec 16th). Details are below, as is a link to the volunteer page on the HGTV website.

Volunteer position consist of separating toys by age category and then packing up toys in toy packages, and then different types of food are to be packed in food packages as well.
St. John's Bread and Life runs several programs including a soup kitchen, mobile soup kitchen, mom's food pantry, More-Than-a-Meal personal products pantry, HIV/AIDS support group, men's and women's support groups, legal and medical clinics etc.
