The fun in searching for another apt. in BK
OK, so after a year in Crown Heights after making awesome friends and finding it not comfy to walk on certain blocks, my roommate and I have agreed to another year in BK, but unfortunately, not in our current location...
We need
-a dishwasher
-equal size bedrooms (I got screwed)
-proximity to Prospect Park
-being closer to the city
-max rent cap of about $2300
Now personally, I'm all for us staying on our block and moving into a building where they have equal bedrooms... our mgmt is good, I like the neighborhood for the most part, and I have very, very, very cheap garage parking.
Plus, the whole "prospect" of finding a new place is disheartening.
You search for Park Slope, you get Prospect Heights.
You search for Prospect Heights, you get Crown Heights.
You search for Billysburg, you get the 'wick around the Broadway Junction.
Half the ads I'm looking at have no pics.
When I DO see a place I like there is always something off about it. For example, I found the perfect place at 756 Myrtle Ave... brand new everything, SS apps, modern cabinets and bathrooms, beautiful place. But it's on the corner of Myrtle and Nostrand... which just happens to be the exact place my roommate was almost jumped and beat down for his $1000 road bike.
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Makes me almost wanna move back home!!!! Frustrating as hell.
Anyways I'm gonna holler at some real estate agents... but if you guys know or hear anything I'd def. appreciate it. Our lease ends January 15th
