It's pretty good, my wife and I have had brunch and dinner there several times. The service can be slow at times, but what can you do?
-
I love it. It's probably my favorite restaurant in the nabe.
As I just posted elsewhere: MB's has great food, good prices and great ambiance. The waitstaff gets overwhelmed at times but they're friendly.
I love a nice evening at MB's -
went for brunch this past weekend
got the corn beef hash and eggs
real corn beef! not that mush that some people serve as corn beef hash
it was really good
my friend ordered the hanger steak and eggs
it was HUGE
for $12 it was like 2 meals
i highly recommend the brunch
and sitting outside in the garden -
I've only had good meals there as well. Massive burgers with huge red onions, very generous helpings of fries.

I went there for brunch with a non-Brooklyn friend and we both had great meals. Even better, we felt more relaxed when we left than when we had arrived. It reminded us both of Austin, TX: laid back vibe (including the slow but not annoying serivce), humble decor, mellow fellow diners.

the food is fab. nice sized prtions, order the calamari w/arugula - it's the best...but I must say do not go there if you are in a hurry. The service is SLOW and the waitstaff inexperienced.

My wife I dig Maggie's. Good food (though I have to disagree about the calamari), a couple decent beers, no trendy theme, no TVs. Its a great place to relax. The wait staff is generally pretty good unless their friends come in - then they get distracted.

I liked the place a lot when they first opened. Since then they've messed with the menu a few times (dropping some of my faves), and they're on at least their third chef (#2 was the best). I'm not such a huge fan anymore.
And don't EVEN think about calling in an order for takeout. You'll feel like you're talking to some Bizzarro-World version of the DMV. -

Really? We order out from there quite frequently and never have problems. Except the day they got a new computer system. That threw them for a loop. -
I'm glad your experience was better. The two times I tried involved being told I was ordering from an old menu, 35 minutes waiting for them to fax a current menu, showing up to find they'd forgotten to prepare part of my order, and the last time, showing up 20 minutes after calling in the order (the length of time they told me to wait), and finding that the order hadn't gone into the kitchen yet.
Maybe they just hate me? lol -
Having an out of date menu is definitely a problem with them. Whenever we stray from our usual dishes it's always hit and miss whether or not they actually have what we want to order.
we order from them once every week or two and almost never have problems beyond the usual occasional late delivery when they're busy or something like that. -
It's great for casual, good food--but the service there is slow as molasses in january. They're really nice--but very slow and inattentive.

It depends on if the head chef is working. If he is, the food is excellent. If not, it will taste like 3rd rate diner food.
-
great place. have been going there since it opened about 2 years ago. I love their appetizer size/price entrees complementing their full size entrees. Sitting in their garden in the summer is a great experience.

Food is usually quite good but the service has been exceptionally poor on more than one occasion. If you've got a lot of time to kill I'd reccomend going but if you're looking for a quick meal I would strongly suggest somewhere else.
