Sorry, can I get some insight into this phenomenon? :oops:

I'm aware that the young hipster/yup females seem to like this look, and that's fine, but what I'm wondering is, what kind of work can you do looking like you just walked out of White Fang? Obviously food service is out, as is work in any sort of professional environment. Do they all have jobs in 'the creative sector'? Video shop clerks with a money tree growing in their backyard? Just trying to make some sense of it over here. :P

    An observation - if you're going to 'slash' hipster and yup, it's an indication that you don't have a firm grasp on either - they are different beasts altogether... or at the very least, the hipsters are a larval stage or summat.

    I gotta say, Restless Native, that whenever I see a post from you that contains the terms "hipster" or "yup" I can't even really pay absorb the rest of the post anymore. It's like listening to a record skip, or maybe like the way the grownups talked in the old Peanuts tv specials.

    We GET IT. You don't like hipsters and yups, whatever those are.

    I dunno. The only men I see bearded like that are the Hasidim, and while *some* beard is attractive, the big bushy look is not. And it's unhygenic as well.

    i don't think i've ever heard of someone not getting a job due to a beard. my boss never gave me any guff about it, but probably because he sports one as well.

    Yeah, you'd see a lot of unemployed Hasidim that way.

    Actually, there are a lot of unemployed Hasidim, but they're voluntarily unemployed because studying Torah is more important.
