Good job 77! — Brooklynian

Good job 77!

Did anybody know that two Police Officers recovered shotguns last week?

After stopping a vehicle for a traffic infraction, one officer was presented with a forget Sea Gate Police ID card. A search of the vehicle following his arrest revealed a loaded 12 gauge shotgun in a duffel bag. The perp had a prior weapon conviction. The perp resides at 1400 Bergen St. in the Albany Houses. A loaded shotgun does not belong in the projects.

Another loaded shotgun was recovered from inside the apt of a parolee while a parole officer was conducted a home visit. Police responded to the scene after being requested by the parole officer and recovered the shotgun from the perps bedroom.

Two deadly weapons taken off the street in one day!

  • Way to go! :)

Nice to hear some positive news.
  • The fewer illegal guns around here the better -- nice to hear about this!
  • My first thought was that I thought that kind of thing happened every day....I guess I watch too much t.v.? Is it really that rare for police to confiscate guns like this? Really, this is an honest question.
  • Way to go. I live less than a block from the Albany Houses and a shotgun was used on my block to shoot someone in August. The more that aren't here, the better!
What's a forget Sea Gate card?
  • I think he was trying to say "forged" Seagate Police ID Card. The same man was arrested again last night for Police Impersonation.
  • Ah. That makes a lot more sense then.

I couldn't figure out if the officer had been presented this weird award I hadn't heard of for doing his job, or whether it was a novel form of contraband!
