Brooklyn shirts?
I want to buy some tees or sweatshirts with the Brooklyn logo on (no specific design, just the word Brooklyn) for Christmas gifts but don't want to pay an arm and a leg.
People say that Brooklyn Industries on Union & Fifth has them but are expensive.
Anybody know any other store selling them? (Can be in Manhattan too)

Try Sport Prospect or 4Play - these stores are next to each other on 7th Ave...near 12th St.

artezn in boerum hill. half the store is "brooklyn" stuff
http://artezn.com/ -
Online, Cafe Press has some neat designs:
http://www.cafepress.com/buy/brooklyn -
The Big and Tall men's clothing store at 5th Avenue and 8th Street (I think), maybe it's called something Square, has Brooklyn T-shirts, the kind with the swish under "Brooklyn." They are not too expensive (around $10, if I remember correctly), and they have all the colors (and in many sizes). They also sell sweatshirts and other things, surely some of them will say Brooklyn. --E.

Sport Prospect on 7th Avenue and 12th? 13th? Street has tons of Brooklyn shirts at affordable prices.

brooklyn industries is expensive, but their stuff is really unique if you've got any fashionistas to buy for (read- teenage girls.) I got my sister an "I *watertower* BK" shirt last year and she wears it around her campus all the time (formerly in new orleans and now in ghana) I think it was $30 or something. Plus their stuff is really nice quality, I've got a few shirts from there and they wash really well
*not affiliated in any way with brooklyn industries... -
The clothing store..men's.. on corner of 5th and 8th street always has Brooklyn Shirts.. not expensive... and thermals too. Tip Top between 8th and 9th has great Brooklyn shirts.

There's a boutique (the name escapes me but i will find out) on Bedford between N6th and N5th i believe that sells T shirts (american apparel) that say "Somebody In Brooklyn Loves Me". my ex got me one of those before i moved to BK. i still wear it even though i live in Brooklyn now, cause damnit it is comfy and fits awesome. I'll ask her what the name of the shop was.

Brooklyn Industries has an outlet in Williamsburg (broadway at Driggs?). T-shirts $10.

For what age?

Triangle Sports on Flatbush - near 5th Ave? I think? The guys who work there are really nice and their Levis and super cheap.

Bit of a thread hijack, but when I was in Austin recently, one of the best t-shirts I saw said "Someone In Austin Fucking Hates Me."
I third (maybe fourth by now?) the Sport Prospect recommendation, though. -

Yes! Square Store-
The black T with white lettering, swish under "Brooklyn" is "old school", Rayn's Bar, Coach Inn, Danny's Candy Store, stick ball, quarts of Bud, Friday night at Snooky's, Saturday at The Sanders Brooklyn. It's what you buy as a gift. -

I forgot to tell you that today I remembered that I owned one of those Brooklyn tees with the swirly slash that I bought at Square Stores and wore it all day. It is Cotton/thermal black with white lettering but comes in other colors. Wearing this shirt made for a happy day.. people spoke to me at the gymn and supermarket and around the hood. Everyone loves BROOKLYN. -
PM Brookfetish, he used to do T-shirts. He might still. They were Brooklyn Themed if I remember correctly.

As a matter of fact, I usually lurk on the board, but have been a member a couple of years. As my ID says, I've lived in the Slope for 35, now 37, years, so I usually know where things are and who my vet, dentist, doctor, gynecologist, auto mechanic and hair cutter are too, for instance. I do check in when there are sirens or helicopters or when Time-Warner is acting up because people here usually know what's happening.
My car is at the mechanic's now, as a matter of fact, so once I get it back in a day or two, I will go down to the store on 7th Ave near 12th. I was just down there last week buying bagels at Bagel Hole - IMO, still the best in the neighborhood - which I took to my hosts' for the breakfast after Thanksgiving. -
