mmmmm, rugelach
Did she change the recipe of the dough on the apricot/raspberry in the past year? The last time I got it, I liked it a lot less...it was sort of flat.
And, in anticipation of a boardwide jones for Erica's rugelach:
I get it at the Coop. I don't know where else they sell it, other than this craft fair.

Did someone say rugelach??? I kid you not here's the realest deal in Brooklyn...delicious and oh so light!

I love Margaret Palca's baked goods (especially the chile chocolate cake she makes for Alma next door. omigod.) but the rugelach is not as good as Erica's, at least the one time I tried it. I think there was too much cinnamon for me in Palca's.

OK - I'll try Erica's - BTW - you can 1 1/4 lbs of the apricot & raspberry for $30.00 + $10 shipping and handling - sounds pricy!

I just bought some Erica's at Fairway. I used to buy holiday gifts at Gertels near my mother's house - awesome Rugelach - sob. I'm looking for a fresh replacement. I don't suppose that there is an actual Erica's bakery where you can go and buy the stuff fresh? Margaret Palca is kosher, right?

It has been a while so I won't swear to this but I have always loved the Rugelach at Juniors (nothing else....even the cheese cake)
I wonder if anyone has tried them recently and can give the yah or nay? -
How did the Great Holiday Rugelach Smackdown go?
I don't think there's an actual Erica's retail bakery, but they have a 11215 zipcode listed on that site, so they're around here somewheres.... -

We had dinner at Convivium with friends and then swung down Flatbush Ave and brought home a Junior's Cheesecake and some Rugelach for dessert. Now I am certian.. The cheesecake is ok but the Rugelach were outstanding.

You know what's really really good, rugelach-wise? The Joy of Cooking's rugelach recipe. It's one of the simplest recipes in there - the dough is just butter and cream cheese and flour, mixed and chilled, and then you roll it out and add on toppings like a pizza, roll it, and slice it. It makes your your house smell INSANE and the ratio of work to impressiveness (especially if you make the crescent-shaped ones, which are rolled-up pizza-slice shapes and look really fancy but - top secret - are easier than rolling a whole cookie dough at once and then chopping it method), is off the hook.
Wait, is it "off the hook" or "off the wall"? My point is that they look fancy and are easy and ARE ARE delish. -

Erica's is good! It's different. Nothing, nothing, nothing beats FRESH Rugelach. I like the idea of baking it for myself and am going to try it but I still need kosher Rugelach for my employers...

I got them at Fairway last week for a much delayed Hanukkah party. They were mmmmmmm fantastic! I think they are also sold at the co-op.

I haven't seen them there. I found another brand at the coop. I forget the name but they were pretty good. -
Hey, thanks for renaming the thread to the rugelach thread! Hopefully this will help me in my search...
