The Mynt construction- anyone seen?
I know lots of you have prob seen ads for The Mynt new construction over on Myrtle (near nostrand, I think) and I was wondering if anyone has seen these units in person and, if so, if they seem worth the price. I'm looking to move in March/April and wanted to get a 1br or studio in new construction and these caught my eye...I think they might be a tad overpriced considering the neighborhood, but at this point I'm really just interested in anything newish with access to transportation.
And, as a note, if we could keep this thread clear of people bitching about new construction/gentrification that would be amazing (although someone will, I'm sure, complain about the development "ruining the neighborhood."

I have seen 2 apartments in The Mynt. A 2-bedroom and a 1-bedroom. Both were very nice, well-designed, and spacious although I find the prices to be very, very out of touch with the surrounding neighborhhood. Yes, I do realize this is a "luxury" building but I see a bit of a "Chocolate Factory" scenario going on here in that here we see expensive luxury apartments in an otherwise geographically undesirable location.

I think it is worth saying that if you want new construction you can certainly find a place that is more reflective in price to the area as well as more convenient to trains. The Mynt is at Nostrand and Myrtle, you really only have the G there. There is plenty of new stuff closer to the A/C or at least midpoint between the A/C and the G.

^I dont disagree with this, I do like the close proximity to clinton hill, though. When you get out towards the AC the only thing over there is the restoration plaza (aside from the usual stuy stuff like common grounds, bushbaby etc.) Although being that close to the S might be nice.
I'm not really trying specifically to stay in bedstuy, but I dont want to be in bushwick (and at the mercy of the L as the only train) and I need something less than $1600 so I think this hood is one of my only options...right?
