Christmas caroling in Park Slope on Dec 13th.
This is from the Park Slope Parents listserve:
(Please pass this on to others in the neighborhood... thanks)
Dear neighbors and friends,
On Thursday evening, December 13th; many 7th Avenue Park Slope shops will be open until 9 or 10 to make it easy for the neighborhood to shop local. The holiday season is a make-or-break time of year for our neighbors who own stores here, and this is their effort to make it a little easier for us to shop, and even have a little fun doing it. There will be the usual neighborhood warmth, refreshments, and caroling!
Our family volunteered to organize the caroling as we are friends with a number of store owners on 7th Ave. We will meet in the back room of Community Books, on 7th Ave. between Garfield and (appropriately) Carroll; warm up there for just a few minutes until 7:15; then head north towards Lincoln (staying on the east side of the street); then coming back from there on the west side of 7th. We will go on to 4th Street or so if we have time, then finish back up at Community Books. We are guaranteed to get an extra warm welcome from our neighborhood stores when we come in singing. We will be singing in front or inside depending on the crowds and weather. Song sheets provided (complete with a few Hannukah songs); no experience needed. Please email brockadler@... ASAP (even if you have already done so) so we know how many song packets we need.
Ahhhh, the weather... is supposed to be, as of this point, cold, but the rain of Thursday mid-day should be done by then. We will carol "rain or shine"... bring your umbrellas as needed! (Oh, did I mention that you could do some holiday shopping that evening?)
Happy Holidays! Brock, Diana, Rafaello, and Gabriello -
the 11th street block association is having a caroling event, can't remember the date, but maybe you could find out when it is and crash it?

Thank you both for your replies. We will plan to meet up with the Community Bookstore Group. The e-mail address for Brock Adler is incomplete: brockadler@ ???. If anyone knows it and can pass it on, I will e-mail her. Thanks again.
Howdy, Stranger!
