  • great idea!! i'm a perpetual foreigner.
  • Since when did they let foreigners into Brooklyn?
  • There are foreigners in Brooklyn? Jeezus, fast, tell McCain, Rudy and Romney - maybe they can start that fence on this side of the East River

    I believe you're thinking of "fer-ners."
  • Try talking to your landlord/neighbor/mail carrier/livery cab driver/deli man//dry cleaner/person next to you on the subway/every fourth person on the sidewalk.

It's practically impossible not to meet "foreigners", which, with the possible exception of yuppies, is IMO a good thing.

Has this request been cleared by Homeland Security?
  • Subject: so there is NO ONE in park slope who's foreign?

    how is that possible?

no french or germans, swiss, ugandans, iranians... NO ONE!?

i'm particularly into europeans because i love europe but i mean WHOEVER!
  • ive heard there are alot of ferners in europe
  • cvarrick,,, your reply was just the most true and funniest at the same time!

I am gonna try your suggestion... it is far cheaper than traveling to Europe especially considering how high the Euro is.
  • I know some Canadians, if that helps.
  • is foreigner code for people from Manhattan?

If so, I have no interest.
  • the clue's in the name ...

a gooner in the slope ? the place is going downhill !!!

Amen. My neighbors are from Ireland, my drycleaner people are from Korea, my colleagues from Puerto Rico, and my barber from Russia.

could be worse. I could be a man U fan.

or it could be much worse. I could be a spurs fan.
  • agreed .. Man Yoo sc*m ... lol

still ... right now it might be better than being a fan of my team !

Saw Arsenal beat Liverpool 1 - 0 (Gilberto ) at the Milen. Stadium a couple of years back ... not a great game ... this side looks more exciting to watch ...

No, Man U fan would be worse than Spurs. Man, did we kick Chelsea's ass today!

indeed we did. although there is nothing worse than a spurs fan. all us park slope premiere league fans should go to a bar together in Park Slope somehwere (black sheep?) and beat the crap out of each other.

Looks like you met a bunch of Brits already! Congratulations. Speaking of which, there is a nice little club for Spurs fans not too far away although I have no idea how you have managed to NOT meet foreigners.

    all non-slopers are foreigners?

So true! I just had a wonderful ride to the airport last week with a driver that was from Egypt and spoke 4 languages fluently
He was really great and told me all about his travels.

You're serious? Walk out your front door.
  • Take a cab
  • ok everyone else wins.. it was dumb suggestion
  • All's well that ends well :)
  • OK, let me have my 2 cents in this too.

Here is not very exotic but interesting club I have belonged to for years. I don’t attend too many get-togethers, but the ones I did were great.

Europeans living in NYC. Get-togethers are from wine tasting, tango dancing, serious networking to just silly fun.

You could try Barbes on 9th St for Europeans; French-owned and its laidback continental cafe (as in going-for-a-drink cafe) atmosphere attracts a lot of Euro Slopers.

Agreed. I like Barbes a lot, but wish it were larger. I confess the last time I went, I had to leave because the back room and end of the bar smelled like pee.
