Stoop Sale That Never Was — Brooklynian

Stoop Sale That Never Was

Never got around to having a stoop sale during the warmer weather. Now we have over 25 boxes full of clothes, books, tchotkes, air conditioner, housewares and a typewriter.

Does anyone know of a someone who would be interested in buying it all to resell or whatever? We're not interested in having loads of people come and sift through it all but instead one person come and give us the best offer and take it all.

Or should we just wait until the spring and try again?

They won't give you cash, but they will give you a receipt for what you donated (just the items are on the receipt- you can estimate the value yourself) so that you can deduct it from your taxes.
  • You could certainly do a post on Craigs list making it clear... All or Nothing at All! If storing for afew months is no issue then Spring will be here soon enough and you can do the sale as soon as the weather breaks.
  • Thanks for the suggestions. I thought of Craigslist but wanted to try locally first so tried this message board to get an idea if anyone would be interested.

That all or nothing is exactly what we're interested in happening.

We might give it a try or just wait until Spring if our landlord doesn't ask us to remove the boxes.

    Thanks again all.
