Winterize your home with a sweet, warm kitty!
Meet Emily. She was abandoned in a New York City parking lot. The pedicab drivers who parked there would feed her and let her sleep in their cabs at night. She's really a homebody, though--she just needs the home!

She's a little shy at first but very, very sweet. She loves to be petted and scratched, has a gentle disposition, and is fine around kids.
Emily's healthy, fully vetted, and ready to make your home a warmer, more loving place!
For more information or to meet Emily, please email her foster mom at [email protected].

Hi Mods!
She's still available, but her sticky is gone. Is there a time limit on these things? -
What a beautiful girl and so lucky to have people who looked out for her. Good luck!
P.S. Appollonia likes to have pet adoption posts updated every 2-3 weeks, just to let everyone know what's going on and that they still need a home. I guess some people were posting and never updating when they found a home. -

Exactly. There's a post at the top of this forum titled " READ BEFORE YOU POST: Tips for using this forum" -- everyone please read it, that's what it's there for! In that post I explain that we unsticky any stickied threads in which there haven't been any updates for two weeks or more. We had to do it because there were a zillion stickies in here and I was spending waaaay too much of my time tracking people down individually by PM to ask whether the pets had found homes.

To keep a sticky up, you just have to post an update every couple of weeks. I'll go ahead and re-sticky this one right now. -

whoops, sorry! I did read that post but missed the 2 week clause. I blame early dementia. -
That kitty looks a hell of a lot like Frida, the kitty YoungSun and I rescued.
She had a black chin too. I hope she finds a warm forever home, she's beautiful. -
caseo: did you have trouble getting your dogs to get along with your kitties? id really like to get a cat, but im just worried that my dog would destroy it. whenever she sees a cat on the street she desperately tries to chase it. oh, by the way, this is stringer's owner -- don't know if i've spoken to you since i got a username.

mr. met, check your private messages.

Subject: kitty
We have two dogs and four cats and they get along like best friends. In fact, our German Shepherd Dakota, was best friends with Gino the cat before he moved out (and is back with us again.)
It's all about the way you introduce them and your demeanor, for the most part. Be calm.
They will smell each other and circle around. And there may be a skirmish or two, but they'll settle down and figure it all out.
Sometimes dogs get leash anxiety because they can't do the natural way of introducing themselves because they're restricted on a lead. That may be why your dog gets so excited when he sees a cat. Of course you have to be sure your dog isn't going to attack the cat at first, so stay close and be ready to jump in, if need be. But if the kitty has claws it'll make itself clear if it does or doesn't want to deal with the dog and that will leave a message with the dog that it won't forget.
Good luck and there are lots of cats to choose from on this board.
Hey, what about Trixie and Alice???? -

Fyi, she's still available, still cute and sweet!

I can't believe she hasn't been adopted yet, that 2nd pic of her is beautiful. She has the cutest little chin!

Update: this little lady's still on the market! Here are some fresh photos:

She's affectionate, purr-y, not aggressive at all... She's not an "in-your-face" kind of cat, so perfect for a home where someone may have light allergies or you just want a mellow companion cat to keep the mice away!
Interested? PM me or call 917-733-0283. -
Since it's been over two weeks without an update, I'm unstickying this post as per forum guidelines:

If someone has an update, we'll consider re-stickying.
