I swear I saw something recently, a for rent sign maybe. It's rattling around in the back of my mind, it had to be somewhere I walk by frequently. If I manage to remember or if I see anything else I'll post again.
  • thanks flexi, i'd seen all of those but the last and have written to them.

it's hard because ceramic artists create a lot of dust, so i need a window and room to bring in a kiln and a 220 line (and either cement floors or permission to build a small fire-proof area for said-kiln). ergo, can't generally be a shared space. this is why it's been so hard finding anything.

but i appreciate everyone's hard work and, well, keep `em coming!

Actually it's on 7th Avenue around 17th or 18th(give or take a block or two). It has an awning that says work spaces for rent. It's a nice looking building. I memorized the number for awhile but never called. If you do call, let us know what the deal is!

Actually maybe I'm wrong. I've driven and walked by it numerous times. Maybe it IS eighth avenue. you didn't see it when you went around there?
  • no, nothing on 8th ave. went the day i said i did (i'm sick, so days are blurring)
  • Subject: clarifying information...

hi brooklyn potter, hope you feel better soon!

I just did a mental inventory of where I see this building and it IS eighth avenue. It's a salmon colored (this I'm not clear on but I think so) building, a few blocks from where the bridge for the Prospect Expressway is. If you are headed towards Park Slope, it is on the right hand side. You might have been expecting a 'for rent' sign on the building but a "spaces for rent" sign is ON the awning and it says something like artist spaces / work spaces. There is a ramp going up to the doorway. The phone number is on the awning also.

  • ok, so if i am heading from PS toward the expressway it's on which side? because i walked to the expressway and back and found nothing. ;-(
  • Heading FROM PS towards the Expressway, it would be on the left hand side.

I think it is not too far from the Expressway.

    good luck!

  • ok, i'll head out there again later and see what i can find.
  • you want to use basement space in ps as art studio? i'm gonna turn a basement space into storage soon.
  • Does Mad Arts have studio space?
  • armchair......YES. yes yes yes yes. YES!

it's definitely there, BP. i think it's 1713 eighth ave. and the info is on the awning.

my mouth is watering. most of those spaces are bigger than my apartment.
  • haha I was thinking the same thing. Most of them however are just parts of large loft spaces squared off with no kitchen.
