health insurance
Does anyone know what are any good health insurances in nys. Currently I'm paying a whole lot for the premium each month and I was looking for something in the $700 range and either a PPO or a POS plan since I mostly go out of network. I found a GHI plan for under $500, but it doesn't cover office visits and this was through ehealthinsurance.com. And the other insurances that were listed were for self-employed people only and i'm not working all by myself. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Here are two types of insurances through the City of New York
This one is for people who only make slightly above the Medicaid level for eligibilty:

And this one goes by what your salary is:

If you are a freelancer then Freelancer Union offers very good options for health insurance

I did GHI for a while. It was fine, but they try to bill you quarterly unless you INSIST on monthly

I have GHI as part of my health plan through work, and recently got a letter telling us how they're going to be able to offer their customers much better service soon because they're in the process of trying to become a for-profit company. This is all for the benefit of their customers...
Yeah, right. -
MOD NOTE: just tidying this up from another thread
gerbils25 wrote: Thank you for all of your responses. It's that my mom is paying 1200 dollars a month for both of us (that's $2400 a month) and we couldn't afford all that. So she found a self-employed insurance that is a PPO and full prescription coverage from Atlantis for under $400.
For you information, if you looking for insurance, go to ehealthinsurance.com. Very good website.
Too bad health care cost are rising too much as well as affecting the premiums of health insurance.
Thank you once again and have a Happy New Year. -
